FTP Hang after PWD (desperate)
by Roel Van den Bergh 26 Apr '02

Problem: FTP client hangs after issueing PWD command. We are behind a firewall and the Zope server is behind a firewall I have access to ours but the people who are hosting the server are not very cooperative :-( Searching the message list I find this is due to a NAT problem For testing purposes I allowed every incoming port from the external server to go trough every port here wich I'm not very happy with. Still the ftp connection hangs. Does the Zope FTP server uses other ports then the initialy set 8021 port to communicate? The ftp client is set to passive mode. Running Zope 2.5.1 on RedHat 7.0 with Apache 1.312 Every tip would be very much appreciated TIA Roel

Some questions for you: Which version of Zope? Are you using CMF? One recommendation I have is to disable anonymous access to WebDAV. Sometimes cllients aren't smart enough to authenticate when needed. To do this, go to your root folder and disable the WebDAV access permission for anonymous. -Casey On Friday 26 April 2002 10:15 am, you wrote: > Hi > > Trying to use ZPT from dreamwever 4. Hello together How can I add a file with a Python Class/Method. I have to call this Method from a other folder like: Python_product_instance | |-FileFolder | | | |-addFile() | |-skin | |--uploadForm action addFile My uploadForm ------------ <form action="../FileFolder/addFile" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" name="file"> <input type="submit" value="Hochladen"> </form> My addFile: ------------ def addFile(self, file): # create the file self.manage_addFile(id, file=file, title="") self.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile(id='', title='', file=file) # create a success message message="File '%s' uploaded successfully." % file.filename # redirect to main page - this is necessary to make all the URLs # on the main page work correctly. return self.REQUEST.RESPONSE.redirect("%s?message=%s" % (self.absolute_url(), url_quote(message))) The error is: ------------- The object at Url---FileFolder/addFile has an empty or missing docstring. Hi Dennis, I strugled with the same problem a little while ago, don't know how I figured it out exactly, but this is how I managed it: Put this in a PythonScript and everytime you call it (or test it) a new TTP wil be created, with id= tt_page, title=Tiny Tabel Page and colums name and value. (of course you can make those variable and pass them to the script...) new_ttp=context.manage_addProduct['TinyTablePlus'].manage_addTinyTablePlus(i d='tt_page',title='Tiny Table Page',columns='name value') Greetings, Ria Marinussen Webmaster Department of Computer Science University of Twente Enschede The Netherlands. > Message: 28 > Date: Thu, 25 Apr 2002 02:59:19 -0700 (PDT) > From: Dennis Allison <allison(a)sumeru.stanford.EDU> > To: zope(a)zope.org > Subject: [Zope] Tiny Tables Plus's Constructor > > I've been using TTP and find it meets my needs for a "not quite a > database" sort of object. I want to disable some of the markup. Is there a simple mechanism for doing this? The code looks as if it's setup for numerous options, but a quick, non-comprehensive search didn't turn up anything useful.

FW: RE: [Zope] SecurityGetUser -- no such method?

(Off-list suggestion brought back on-list) ----- Forwarded message from Steve Drees <drees(a)rangebroadband.com> ----- | From: "Steve Drees" <drees(a)rangebroadband.com> | To: "dman" <dman(a)dman.ddts.net> | Subject: RE: [Zope] SecurityGetUser -- no such method? | Date: Thu, 25 Apr 2002 17:26:25 -0500 | | bind ns to the namespace in your script | | ns.SecurityGetUser() is your friend ----- End forwarded message ----- That almost works. This script is actually index_html and isn't called from a DTML object. Otherwise that looks like it would follow the DTML examples exactly. SecurityGetUser -- no such method?
by dman 26 Apr '02

26 Apr '02

I have a Python Script that needs to find out the name of the currently authenticated user. I saw docs that say to use SecurityGetUser() and provide some sample DTML. I can't seem to find that method anywhere in my Python Script (and the lack of dir() doesn't help me find it). Using REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER seems to work, but is that the Right Way to do it? TIA, -D -- (A)bort, (R)etry, (T)ake down entire network? GnuPG key : http://dman.ddts.net/~dman/public_key.gpg
