Error Type: Type Error Error Value: getRelativePath() takes no arguments (2 given) What am I missing here...? Thanks, Samy Rengasamy.

ZSyncer and accented chars in title
by Milos Prudek 21 Apr '02

When source document has accented characters in its title, it *is* synced successfully but it cannot it synced from then on. ZSyncer gives error message: "Syntax error at line 31: illegal character in content" How can I fix it? I'm using accented character from ISO-8859-2 set (Czech characters). I'm using ZSyncer 0.3 and Zope 2.4.3 under Linux. -- Milos Prudek

Re: [Zope] Problem Creating Instances Mysteriously Solved
by Dan Shafer 21 Apr '02

I see now that DTMLDocument is a subclass of DTMLMethod (which isn't in the Zope Book but which I found on the Zwiki). Then I noticed that manage_edit() is a function of the DTMLDocument. Don't know how I overlooked it but I'm on it now. So now I know how to change the DTMLDocument's contents. Off to see if I can dope out user-defined properties on Zope objects (not custom ZClasses). I'm sure it's in here somewhere.

Sorting in ZPT ... duh... apologies
by Heimo Laukkanen 21 Apr '02

Yep. The last message was full of crap. It didn't even work like it was supposed to do. The better way to do sorting ofcourse was to use sequence.sort. I have to sleep more and stop doing stupid mistakes. -huima <div tal:define="raw_items python: here.contentValues( filter={'Type':( 'Document' , 'Image' , 'File' , 'News Item' ) } ); items python: auth_filter( raw_items, skip='' ); sort_on python:(('title', 'nocase', 'asc'), ('bobobase_modification_time', 'cmp', 'desc')); sorted_items python:sequence.sort(items, sort_on)">

Sorting objectValues in ZPT ( CMF )
by Heimo Laukkanen 21 Apr '02

21 Apr '02

This is a tip for everyone else, of they want to do sorting in ZPT. Atleast for me the basic CMF skin didn't sort out the folders and files like I wanted, so I decided to add a small sort with lambda-expression. You can easily change it to sort with title or anything else. Sorting is done in uppercase, since case doesn't matter in this case. <div tal:define="raw_items python: here.contentValues( filter={'Type':('Document' , 'Image' , 'File' , 'News Item' ) } ); foobar python: raw_items.sort(lambda x, y: cmp(string.upper(x.getId()), string.upper(y.getId()))); items python: auth_filter( foobar, skip='' ); "> Hope this helps. -huima

problems with examples in the Zope Book (Zope Zoo)
by Walter Truitt 20 Apr '02

20 Apr '02

I got the zope book this last week, and this is my first introduction to using zope. I downloaded the latest version of zope on my Windows machine. I have it all working, and have been happy with it for a few days now. I made it through the zope tutorial, and the first few chapters in the book with no problem. In chapter four, I had one change that I figured out. In a Script(Python) "hasVisitedZoo", to use the cookies, REQUEST has to be set to container.REQUEST. I am guessing this must be something new in the later release or something. Anyways, I am now in chapter 5, and there is a navigation DTML method that is supposed to print links to the various folders. In my index_html, also it is supposed to print the folder name rather than the DTML Document name (index_html) from the figures. Did something change to make it where I have to specify what to use? I didn't find how to set a variable to the folder to be used yet, or I would have figured what should have been written. The interesting thing was that earlier in chapter 4, I had a <dtml-var title> in a file, and it put the folder name even though the document also had a title. (Feedbags if you know the book). While writing this email, I figured it out. I decided index_html would be a DTML Document rather than a Method. This difference was not pointed out in the book (at least the print version), if it is not in the online one with comments, I will add the comment myself. :-) It does say to create a DTML Method in the folder called index_html, I just started adding it, and thought to myself, this is document. Anyways, I needlessly spent hours trying to solve this. On with life. Thanks, -walter

Re: [Zope] What is the Best Way to Include CSS Stylesheets in Zope

Put a dtml method called "global_css" in your root directory and this in your standard_html_header <link HREF="<dtml-var "global_css.absolute_url()">" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <dtml-if local_css> <style type="text/css"> <dtml-var local_css> </style> </dtml-if> At 8:32 AM -0700 4/20/02, zvi(a)12thplanetcafe.com wrote: >I would like for all of my Zope pages to use a CSS >stylesheet by default. Re: [Zope] Installing PIL WAS: TIFF files
by Marc Lindahl 20 Apr '02

If you look at the instructions for my Image_corepatch product (http://www.zope.org/Members/bowerymarc) there's something about that. Bottom line, put a link to PIL somewhere Zope's python interpreter will find it. I think it's in python/site_packages, but check. on 4/17/02 9:28 AM, hans at hans(a)beehive.de scrivened: > Michael Montagne wrote: > >> I'm having trouble using the photo product and importing .tif files. >> I'm using the PIL option, ImageMagick gives me a broken pipe error. >> .jpg works great but .tif gives me no image. Hi, how could i make a perfect Linkmanagement ? I want to link contentobjects with other objects (like a href). Is there a way to make a linkmanagement? For example: Object with ID has the URLs http://www.staerd.de/bild1.gif http://www.staerd.de/job/bild1.gif ??? or something like ID 234234 = URL "relative URL" /bild1.gif" or "/job/bild1.gif" ?
