PHParser released
by Maik Jablonski 18 Mar '02

18 Mar '02

hello, today i've released PHParser. It gives you the chance to reuse your old scripts from the days before you experienced ZOPE and Python. It's a little bit like the PHPDocument-Product. Unfortunately the PHPDocument-Product seems to be a little "hacky" & unmaintained, so I decided to reinvent the wheel in order to get a clean and stable product for production environments. PHParser is a ZOPE-Product which is based heavily on the DTML-Document-Class. A PHParser will give you all the features of a DTML-Document + all the features of PHP. Additionally you can mix DTML into your PHP-Code. http://www.zope.org/Members/mjablonski/PHParser Maybe someone wants to use it in order to save some time and money... In the future you should use always Python anyhow, I guess... greetings, maik. -- maik jablonski visit www.zope.org, universitaet bielefeld LET'S GET ZOPED!!!! zentrum fuer lehrerbildung didaktik des sachunterrichts postfach 10 01 31 33501 bielefeld germany tel: + 49 (0) 521 106 4234 http://www.zfl.uni-bielefeld.de/ http://www.sachunterricht-online.de/

RE: [Zope] ZEO and LocalFS
by sean.upton＠uniontrib.com 18 Mar '02

In theory, at least on Linux, Intermezzo might be more appropriate for syncing code in the Zope software home. We plan on doing this with our next Zope setup, with the idea that the software homes stay synced when we do a cvs update of the code on our production servers, but they are still independent and local. Sean -----Original Message----- From: Chris McDonough [mailto:chrism@zope.com] Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 7:10 AM To: Schmidt, Allen J.; zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] ZEO and LocalFS If you want to share filesystem content between a set of ZEO clients that are running on separate machines, you will need to set up something like NFS or maybe Samba or another mountable network file system on each client. Then you will need to export a directory from a "central" location that can be mounted by each client. We use NFS sometimes for this, and one tip is to put the export on one client as something like /home/zope/share and mount it on every other client as the same name. Then you can address the files that go in the share the same from any machine. It also helps to actually put the Zope software home in a mounted filesystem so all of your clients share the same Zope code. This is generally required for ZEO and it's a reasonable way to accomplish it. Installing ZMySQLDA on Windows
by Igor Leturia 18 Mar '02

18 Mar '02

Hi all! I want to have access to some MySQL databases from Zope, so I've tried to install ZMySQLDa, but it's just been impossible! First I have tried to follow the instructions in http://www.zope.org/Members/philh/mysql which are very easy, but some files mentioned in the how-to aren't there, so I've had to get them from somewhere else. After doing the installation, I got an error. Anyway, the how-to is about ZMySQLDA 1.1.3, which I think is quite old. Then I've tried to follow the instructions in http://www.zope.org/Members/alanpog/zmysqlda_steps , which are for Unix, but anyway it says you have to install MySQLdb, which is not there. I found it somewhere else in a windows binary distribution, but I couldn't finish the installation. So, please, has anyone got some easy instructions to install ZMySQLDA on Windows, and all the necessary files, and these in binary distribution, without having to compile them? I'm desperate! Thanks in advance, Igor Leturia
