calling a DTML method with arg
by John Hunter 23 Feb '02

23 Feb '02

I have several pages where I want to list some information about patients in my database, and want to have a single DTML method called listPatient which takes pid (patient id) as an arg and lists the information for that patient. The basic idea is that I have many DTML Documents that need to list patients in a variety of contexts, and I want to have a single method that controls how patients are listed, so as I upgrade my database I won't have to change the patient listing format in many places Something like <dtml-in expr="get_pids()" mapping> <dtml-call expr="listPatient( 'pid=%s' % <dtml-var pid>)" > </dtml-in> But I am having trouble figuring out how to set up a DTML method to get an argument like this. Is this possible? Can you recursively nest DTML methods/documents? Thanks John Hunter

ZCatalog results.
by Sidnei da Silva 22 Feb '02

22 Feb '02

Im trying to make 2 searchs on one ZCatalog and merge both into a single result, but I had no success on removing the duplicated results. Has anyone did this (almost sure)? How do we filter a LazyCat? There is a way to convert it to a python list? Thanx. -- Sidnei da Silva X3ng Web Technology sidnei(a)x3ng.com.br

_mysql_exceptions.NotSupportedError
by Carl Batten 22 Feb '02

22 Feb '02

I get a "_mysql_exceptions.NotSupportedError: (1196 "Warning: Some non-transactional changed tables couldn't be rolled back.")" error at seemingly random intervals. It happens when inserting a record into a table through a ZSQL method, but not every time. The site user can go back to the form from the error page (with the browser's back button) and resubmit the form and it will work fine the second time. If I check the database after receiving the error and before retrying, the record is there. Retrying produces a duplicate record. Since it succeeded, nothing should need to be rolled back, which makes the error message hard to understand. In any case, my tables are in MyISAM format and don't support rollbacks. My current theory is that this happens when one transaction follows too quickly after another in the same table. It never happens when I test the ZSQL method and it seems to happen a lot less often if I call the offending ZSQL method from a script that has a time-wasting for loop between it and the prior ZSQL method. Has anyone else experienced this? Found a solution? And what's the best way, within a Python script, to pause a half-second or so without slowing other processes? Thanks. Versions: Zope version 2.4.1 Python 2.1.1 ZMySQLDA version 2.0.8 MySQL-Python version 0.9.1 mysqld version 3.23.36 Red Hat Linux version 7.1 Zope and mysqld are on the same machine. -- Carl Batten

FTP to DocumentLibrary
by Stephan Goeldi 22 Feb '02

22 Feb '02

Is there a way to submit a bunch of files to DocumentLibrary via FTP? Yes, it works, but the files are not indexed by the DocumentLibraryIndex. And: Is there a way to automatically let the folders and subfolders be DocumentLibrary Topics? DocumentLibrary IllegalFileType
by Stephan Goeldi 22 Feb '02

22 Feb '02

I installed DocumentLibrary on RedHat 7.0. This is a great product. I also use wvWare on this server (yes, it is accessible as the zope user). DocumentLibrary tells me, that Word Docs are illegal file type. Here is the Traceback: Traceback (innermost last): File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 150, in publish_module File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 114, in publish File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 158, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: DocLib) File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 98, in publish File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 88, in mapply (Object: document_submit) File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 39, in call_object (Object: document_submit) File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py, line 127, in __call__ (Object: document_submit) File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 473, in __call__ (Object: document_submit) File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Try.py, line 140, in render File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Try.py, line 174, in render_try_except File /home/www/frax.ch/zope/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Raise.py, line 56, in render (Object: IllegalFileType) IllegalFileType: (see above) I have read the docs in lib/python/Products... directory and cannot figure out what is going wrong. _underline_ broken in STXNG?
by Steffen Hausmann 22 Feb '02

22 Feb '02

Hi, We're using Zope 2.4.3 on a linux SuSE 7.0 system. In Stx words could be underlined by surrounding them with two underscores. This dosn't work with StxNG. I took a look at the StxNG code and found a definiton for underlined words, but it doensn't work. I tried this on Zope 2.5.0, but it didn't work either. How can the 'underlinetag' be turned on again?
