I believe they made a switch from connect(server,port) # 2 arguments to connect((server,port)) # note the tuple -- 1 argument! a couple Pythons ago. id of an externally created object

Hi List, if i create a new object in an external method with following code, the object is created without any exception and i can see it in the management interface of Zope with id and title. newob2=self.Control_Panel.Products.SQS_Library.Book(id2) newob2.propertysheets.InstanceProperties.manage_changeProperties(REQUEST) But if i iterate over it like this <dtml-in objectValues> <dtml-var id> </dtml-in> i dont't get the id of the object. It's no problem, cause if i add this line of code in my external method everything seems to be alright. newob2._setId(id2) My question: Is this behaviour ok, and if it is, could anybody explain to me why it is like this? Whois tag help

Hello, I am trying to figure out the whois function to use within zope. I have a form trough which I can add the domain and suffix, but I can't seem to get it working, either with an external method or a python script. Also the whoistools-0.1.0, don't seem to work correctly, I get this error when testing through python Python 2.1.1 (#1, Aug 25 2001, 04:19:08) [GCC 3.0.1] on sunos5 Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import whois >>> print whois.Whois("python.org") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ? SSL Ioan's Tutorial problem

Hello friends, It had spend days on Google, Zope Site, and ask question on the list (Many thanks to people on the list) ? But It's infructuous.(I came from Perl,PHP , the origin web script langage background, I try to enjoy the fun you guys already had.) I just hope to solve a easy question. I really couldn't find any method or function in Python Script to check a attribute exist or not. One option we've considered is storing information in volatile RAM, then flushing it out to the ZODB every now and then, perhaps by a separate thread to prevent page generation from slowing down. This could work if some loss of data is acceptable (if the server is shut down or crash, some unflushed/unsaved data will be lost), for example information related to the usage of a website: - page counters - clickstream logs - implicitly gathered personalization profiles If you use ZEO you'll get into additional problems of each ZEO client having its own volatile RAM storage that needs to be synced via the ZODB or via some other network protocol. Letting Zope Find images directories

Dear all On our Zope site which also uses CMF we have hundreds of docs and even more images. Rather then have the following structure folder with html files with images\filename.gif references folder\images with graphics for html files I would like to have an images directory at the top level. As all of our files go the FrameMaker -> WebWorks route and many of the html files use the same images this would save lots of work when ftping the files to our Web site. Unfortunately it seems that there is a 5 level limit on how far up the directory tree Zope will look for the images before not finding them. Is this correct?
