some ideas for pythonscript enhancements.
by Anthony Baxter 08 Nov '01

A couple of smallish projects that I'm not likely to have any time to implement any time soon that someone might like to consider: a "nice" view for pythonscripts that uses pyfontify and shows line numbers. when tracking down bugs you end up having to count down to the right line number. a "reformat" that does a nice job of reformatting the code. the text area edit box leads to laziness (1 space indents :) Anthony

Which catalog is calling principiaSearchSource
by kosh＠aesaeion.com 08 Nov '01

08 Nov '01

I know this seems strange but I need to find out which catalog is calling or causing that function to be called since I want to tailor the information I had back to the catalog based on which catalog is doing the calling. So far I have not seen where to get this information from the REQUEST and it doesn't put itself in the acquisition chain. However I figure there should be some way to get that information back out. All I need is the id of the catalog that is calling that function since I have an object that can catalog itself to multiple catalogs and I want to tailor principiaSearchSource to go with the rest of the information. Thanks This is all in a python product with python 1.5.2 and zope 2.3.3 Designing the webpages of tomorrow http://webme-eng.com Designing the MMORPGS of tomorrow http://worldforge.org

gadfly broken out of the box
by Chris Fenton 08 Nov '01

08 Nov '01

Several users downloaded zope 2.4.2 on new Mandrake 8.1 boxes. When they went to add ZGadfly connection /var/gadfly did not exist. After creating directory /var/gadlfy/demo/ They got the following Sorry, you cannot create any Zope Gadfly Database Connections because no Gadfly databases exist, or all of the existing databases are in use. Is 2.4.2 broken ?

Question about the base href that Zope adds automatically
by Pieter Claerhout 08 Nov '01

08 Nov '01

Hello Zopistas, can anyone explain me why zope always adds the <base href="http://my.server.com/" /> to every HTML file it's serving. What's the purpose of this, and is it really necessary? By the way, is there an easy way to get rid of this if it's not necessary? Cheers, Pieter

structured text and tables
by Robert Rottermann 08 Nov '01

08 Nov '01

Hi, I am trying to understand how tables embedded in structured text work. Looking at the code shows that there is a way to define the alignment and other things. However I do not understand how it works. Is there a documentation somewhere? Looking trough the relevant wikis just left me bewildered. Robert

Any specific things that might get broken? It's a sucky cludge to solve quite a tricky problem because no-one can afford the time to get their head around it ;-) > By the way, is there an easy way to get rid of this if it's not necessary? Put your own <base> in your header, but, be warned, it'll bite you at some point ;-) cheers, Chris
