Pulling excel charts into zope/HTML
by Meilicke, Scott 07 Nov '01

Is anyone pulling excel charts into zope? I'm *trying* to use com and zope on NT to export a chart into a gif and drop it onto the file system with an external method. From there I can use LocalFS or figure out a way to get it into the zodb for display. Thanks - Scott

If I do <dtml-if expr="my_attribute == 1"> <dtml-in> </dtml-in> </dtml-if> my_attribute isn't an attribute of each sequence_item If I do <dtml-in> <dtml-if> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> I cannot use the dtml-in modifiers, like start="1", size="10">... I mean, I can use them but I'd like them to mean "start from position 1 of the sequence of the items matching the where-like clause" and "take the first 10 elements of the sequence of the items matching the where-like clause". Look at the advanced tab of the ZSQLMethod. They default to 1000 rows. acquisition with HTTP HEAD
by Mark Logan 07 Nov '01

07 Nov '01

maybe i'm missing something, but it seems that calling HEAD on a zope url does not invoke acquisition. e.g.: if i have the following objects: /foo content header /foo/bar content then get HTTP 200 for the following calls: GET /foo/bar/content GET /foo/content GET /foo/header HEAD /foo/content HEAD /foo/header But I get HTTP 404 if i call HEAD /foo/bar/header This seems wrong since the document appears to be there under one method and appears to not be there in the other. Is this acceptable in terms of the HTTP RFC? I haven't checked. I can't think of any reason for this although perhaps ZC did. Best, Mark mlogan(a)ccs.neu.edu

Can you build a list based on your conditional, then cycle through that list? <dtml-in> <dtml-if expr="my_attribute == 1"> <code to make a new list> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> <dtml-in new list> </dtml-in> Does anyone have a code snippet to share to make a new list? -Scott -----Original Message----- From: Ruberl Michele [mailto:mruberl@etnoteam.it] Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2001 8:32 AM To: gs(a)styrax.com; zope(a)zope.org Subject: RE: [Zope] conditional dtml-in ? RE: [Zope] Erratic HTTP 500
by sean.upton＠uniontrib.com 07 Nov '01

Thanks, I was able to figure out what it was. I'm seeing it in Z2.log on the badly behaving node; looks like a failed ZSQL Method due to a closed database connection or non-functional DA can cause Zope to return an HTTP 500; an accidental change to MySQL permissions caused the connection to die... I did everything in trying to investigate what was going on except the obvious, which was check the connectivity of the database that I use in my automated procedure... I know better next time... Sean -----Original Message----- From: Dieter Maurer [mailto:dieter@handshake.de] Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2001 2:27 PM To: sean.upton(a)uniontrib.com Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] Erratic HTTP 500 sean.upton(a)uniontrib.com writes: > Anybody have any thoughts on what problems might trigger an HTTP 500 in > Zope? Provided that the 500 response is generated by Zope and not the SQUID in front, it means that there has been an exception that ZPublisher is unable to map to a different response code (such as 'Unauthorized' and 'redirect'). Catch exceptions in your process and print them. Then you get a better feeling what goes wrong. If the response is generated by SQUID, then Zope died (or timed out). In this case, use the "-M" option (-> mailing list archives), to analyse the circumstances of the deaths. Dieter

Bizare software has a cart application that they sell (I haven't used it). http://www.bizarsoftware.com.au/index.html -Scott -----Original Message----- From: Ben Ocean [mailto:zope@thewebsons.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2001 8:11 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Shopping Cart Hi; I need a shopping cart for an app I'm building in Zope. I've worked with a cart built in PHP and been quite happy with it. I notice that the only product currently available for this app in Zope is zCommerce. There has only been one developmental release of it and that was well over a year ago. Has anyone had any good experience with this app? Or, would I be better off trying to port the PHP app into Zope? Or proxy-passing back and forth between Zope and Apache?
