Re: [Zope] Zope-WebDAV
by mbagepll＠memphis.edu 05 Nov '01

Hi all, I tried to install zope on a development machine and use WebDAV. I used Zope 2.4.1 with win2k. I changed the WebDAV Port number to 8086 and tried to use it. It worked fine for me on this system. I can rename folders, drag and drop them and so forth. But, unfortunately it is not working on my production machine. I cannot rename the folders. It gives me error saying-"unable to rename the newfolder". I have not done anything extra on the development machine, but everything seems to work fine. Can anyone help me out in this matter.

Einstieg in das CMS mit Zope
by Haas, Thomas 05 Nov '01

05 Nov '01

RE: [Zope] Zope Server Crashes

2 quick suggestions for some detective work: - watch your memory profile for Zope; determine if this is a problem (i.e. a leak in an app or Catalog, etc, use a tool like top) - enable "big M" logging... you can search the list archives for more info... Sean -----Original Message----- From: Michelle Jacobs [mailto:Michelle.Jacobs@ftech.net] Sent: Monday, November 05, 2001 8:01 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Zope Server Crashes Hi, We've been running Zope on Linux since March 2001 and we've been quite pleased - even put our company web site on Zope. However, over the past few weeks we've experienced more and more frequent server crashes until finally, out of desperation, we upgraded from 2.3.2 to 2.4.2. The upgrade seemed to solve the problem temporarily, but we've been experiencing more and more crashes over the last few days. We've now installed a script which checks for failed requests and restarts Zope in the event of a crash, but the problem is only becoming worse. Server logs show only gaps and not much in the way of useful information while the server was down. Anyone out there have experience of this sort of thing with Zope or can offer any suggestions? Zope & optimistic transactions.
by Clark OBrien 05 Nov '01

05 Nov '01

Chris, I set up a test harness to exercise zopes optimistic transaction management. My test immediatly caused a ZODB exception. I am running zope 2.42. on win 2k, the scripts are attached. Results below: As you recall I posed the following question: What if you had a directory structure like: Folder1 Folder-2 Folder-3 ... .. Folder-n Each folder had an attribute foo and there were two scripts, script1 and script2. script1 modified foo on one Folder only while script2 traversed all the folders modifying the attribute foo on each one of them. Would the script2 ever commit while the fist while script1 was continuously called. This is interesting because a call to script2 would never finish before several calls to script1 finished. I set up a simple test with only 10 folders. I then wrote the script below changeLevel2 that is my scri1 above and changeFolders that is my script2 above. I ran changeLevel2 in a loop using the following code: ----------------------------------------script------------------------------ ----------------- import urllib params = urllib.urlencode({'theText': 'Vitamin D'}) while 1: f = urllib.urlopen("http://localhost:8080/Test/changeLevel2?%s" % params) print f.read() -----------------------------------------script----------------------------- ------------------- I then ran the script changeFolders from my browsers. The result was the following error message: ------------------------------------------------------------ ZODB.POSException.ConflictError Sorry, a site error occurred. Traceback (innermost last): File C:\zope\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 223, in publish_module File C:\zope\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 200, in publish File C:\zope\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 200, in publish File C:\zope\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 200, in publish File C:\zope\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 195, in publish ---------------------------------------------------------- <<scripts.txt>>

"Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)zope.com> writes: > AFAIK, replacing & with & would make the resulting URL impossible > to use in an anchor tag; and that's the primary use for the encodeUrl > method. Reading the xhtml 1.0 DTD again you are right - href is URI (CDATA) and should not be interpreted. So it seems that validator.w3.org is broken in this aspect? Look at this example, CDATA is set, but the ampersand is interpreted as start of an entity: 1: <!DOCTYPE html 2: PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" 3: "DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> 4: <html> 5: <head> 6: <title>Test</title> 7: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> 8: </head> 9: <body> 10: <p> 11: <a href="http://test.com/?a=b&b=c">Link 1</a> 12: <a href="http://test.com/?a=b&b=c">Link 2</a> 13: </p> 14: </body> 15: </html> Parse Tree Axmlns CDATA http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml <html> <head> <title> Test </title> Ahttp-equiv CDATA Content-Type Acontent CDATA text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 <meta> </meta> </head> <body> <p> Ahref CDATA http://test.com/?a=b=c Ashape TOKEN rect <a> Link 1 </a> Ahref CDATA http://test.com/?a=b&b=c Ashape TOKEN rect <a> Link 2 </a> </p> </body> </html> Regards, Frank -- CTO Lightwerk GmbH Email: fte(a)Lightwerk.com Phone: +49 2434 800781 Fax: +49 2434 800794 An der Kull 11 * 41844 Wegberg * Germany

minor bug CoreSessions - patch

The encodeUrl method in CoreSessionTracking 0.9 generates URLs that are illegal for use in HTML (use of & instead of &).
