Dear Zope organization, My name is Eleni and it is my first time that I am writing to you for help. I have registered as a member but I didn't succeded to contact with someone. I am writing to you for giving an answer to my question that nobody can give me. Well, I will explain the nature of my problem with DTML-doc and properties. 1.I have created a folder (main). 2.Inside in this folder I created another subfolders. 3.I have written a code in a dtml-document in main folder to give a sortID (string) property in each subfolder. 4.Whenever I execute my DTML-DOC code it shows all the values of sortIDs that it has assigned in each subfolder. 5.I want to take all sortIDs values e.g. sortID=111, sortID=112, ...etc to be assigned in the properties of main folder in the field of mainNavigationLinks - lines. Can you give me possible solutions to my step 5 problem pls??? Your help will be further appreciated! :-( Eleni. ps.Please reply back at eleni(a)simplyadvanced.net

Hello List, I have a problem using ZSQL Methods. If I do something like this: select * from person where id != (Select userid from projektmitglieder where projektid='20'); Zope gives me an error ! Error Type: ProgrammingError Error Value: ERROR: More than one tuple returned by a subselect used as an expression. select * from person where id != (Select userid from projektmitglieder where projektid='20'); But if I try this on the test chapter of my DB adapter is works and the ZSQL Method also works well if I call it manually !! Does someone knows a solution Thanks in advance Florian Schuler

Zope and MySQL
by Horst Wald 05 Nov '01

05 Nov '01

Hi, I'm still trying to connect MySQL and ZOPe and I've been a little bit too quick last time; I have to use SUSE LINUX 7.0, so which ZMysqlDA or MySQLdb or Mysql-Python am I to use with it? Lately someone told me that if you're using SUSE you must'nt install MySQL with YAST because that would put it into some directory where the adapter does'nt expect to find it. I'm really no expert, is'n there any step-by-step-howto that one can understand without being one? I really searched zope.org, I found nothing helpful. [Fwd: RE: [Zope] conflict error]
by Adam Warner 05 Nov '01

Sorry Prabu I do not know the answer. I've forwarded your message to the list. You should still supply the error message details. Regards, Adam -----Forwarded Message----- From: prabu <ajprabu(a)yahoo.com> To: Adam Warner <lists(a)consulting.net.nz> Subject: RE: [Zope] conflict error Date: 05 Nov 2001 15:58:12 -0800 Tx Adam, I ve used a python function replaceQuote(objectname) as a python script in zope. The content of the replaceQuote function is ResString='' UnfString=strParam if not UnfString: return(ResString) UnfString_Len=len(UnfString) UnfString_Cnt=0 while UnfString_Cnt < UnfString_Len: Unf_Char=UnfString[UnfString_Cnt:UnfString_Cnt+1] UnfString_Cnt=UnfString_Cnt+1 if Unf_Char=='\'': ResString=ResString+'\\'+Unf_Char elif Unf_Char=='\\': ResString=ResString+'\\'+Unf_Char elif Unf_Char=='\"': ResString=ResString+'\\'+Unf_Char else: ResString=ResString+Unf_Char return(ResString) This function will replace the single quote('), double quote(") and slash(\) to a set of character which is prefixed with slash(\). I m calling this function as below whenver the objectname is accessed by a ZSQL method. (Becoz ZSQL method raises a zope error if the object name is inserted with special characters(',",\).) <dtml-let Py_Product1="replaceQuote(Product1)"> <dtml-call "Insert_CSTable(Py_Product1)"> </dtml-let> The problem is - I m calling this replaceQuote function often throughout the page. Sometimes if more number of users are accessing the same page the Conflict Error occur. Can I solve this problem anyway. Prabu _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Logging in a user programatically...
by Rob Foster 05 Nov '01

05 Nov '01

At the risk of asking too many questions... First of all, I should mention that a vast majority of the novice as well as intermediate questions in this group seem to be targeted at User/Role/Permission/Login related problems. Maybe someday, we'll get better documentation/examples on these types of issues. Now for the question: I've got a form that allows a new user to create a login for themselves in the acl_users folder. I want to be able to immediately log them into the system when their account is created (possibly in the same script). I've searched everywhere for examples of this in Python or DTML and can't find what I'm looking for. If someone could help with an example and possibly some suggestions on whether this is even a good idea, I would appreciate it. Thanks to all the Zopistas for fielding all the questions... Hopefully I can do the same someday :) -Rob
