Get name of current method
by davelehman＠loewen.com 04 Nov '01

When my "standard_html_header" method is called, I would like it to detect whether it's called on the site homepage or not. Specifically, there is a graphical element that I would like to have displayed *only* when the home page is displayed (eg. http://www.mysite.com or http://www.mysite.com/index_html) But if a method is called on the root folder (eg. http://www.mysite.com/login_form) I do *not* want the graphic to display. Similarly, I do not want it to display for any subfolders, etc. So far, I have this: <dtml-if "URLPATH1=='' "> display graphic </dtml-if> This makes sure the graphic is not displayed when you're in a subfolder. However, it still shows the graphic for methods called on the root of the site. So I thought of doing something like this: <dtml-if "URLPATH1=='' "> <dtml-if methodname="" or methodname="index_html" > display graphic </dtml-if> </dtmlif> How do I tell what the current method name is in my "standard_html_header"? I'm sure this is insanely obvious, but i'm stumped nevertheless. Regards, Dave

Zope binary and Mysqldb
by s.morris＠bangor.ac.uk 04 Nov '01

Hello all, Having installed a binary version of Zope I'm having some difficulty installing MySQLdb (so I can use . The python on the system can import MySQL but python installed with Zope cannot import the module. What do I need to do to install MySQLdb module so that the python that was installed with Zope can see it? If there isn't a straightforward way of doing it I may have to install Zope from the source distribution. Many thanks, Sion Morris

sql blender anyone?
by Greg Conway 04 Nov '01

04 Nov '01

Hi all, Has anybody out here every tried using the SQL blender product? (http://www.zope.org/Members/adustman/Products/SQLBlender) I have installed SQL Blender for Zope (latest stable Windows release on Windows 2000 Pro SP2), and can generate a default SQL blender for all my tables.... However, if I try to auto-build default folders and methods for all SQL blenders, I get this error: Unexpected tag, for tag <dtml-comma>, on line 2 of <string> I get this with my ZMySQL db connector on a remote server, and also with my test GadFly DB connector on my local machine. Any ideas anybody what could be causing this? Many thanks! Bug importing products ??
by Julián Muñoz Domínguez 03 Nov '01

03 Nov '01

The attached product can be imported from Zope 2.4.2 Linux, but not Zope 2.4.2 on Windows. (Import it in the folder /Control_Panner/Products) Well, this product is a bit strange, because it uses classes of itself, so in Linux zope must be rebooted in order that this product works well. But I am not sure this error I am having in Windows is related with this. I also have this same error importing the file .tar.gz generated by the "distribution" menu. This is the error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: ImportError Error Value: No module named Splitter Troubleshooting Suggestions The URL may be incorrect. The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the HTML source for this page. Versions and missing products
by Alexander James Tucker 03 Nov '01

03 Nov '01

Hi, My success rate using versions has been about 50% so far this year. I reckon it's down to the way I work, which tends to be a bit scatty and all over the place. This means that I start a version for a specific task, join the version, then somewhere along the lines start fiddling with something else I've just remembered, without first remembering to leave the version. In then end, most of my site gets infected with this version, which makes some things break in odd ways... One disturbing effect I ran into last week was, I think, down to me having edited a couple of through-the-web products whilst in a version I shouldn't have been in. I then ran into problems trying to commit the changes I'd made and at the end of it all, the two products I'd edited vanished from the "add products" list in the rest of the site. Has anyone any ideas what I can do to get them back and get my site back into some semblance of consitency? I've checked the control_panel/versions panel and there are no outstanding commits... Alex.

copy object in python script
by Lee Harr 03 Nov '01

03 Nov '01

How do I copy and/or move an object from a python script? I search in the Help! files for "manage_cutObjects" but do not see anything. Nothing on zope.org or the archives either. On a (somewhat) related note: Where do the help files live? I have been upgrading by copying over my Data.fs each time... am I missing out on the latest and greatest help files, or are those not stored in the Data.fs? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

searching a date
by Steffen Hausmann 03 Nov '01

03 Nov '01

Hi, i need to find a date stored in a ZCataolg. the problem is that the date has a time in it ( '2000/01/01 12:00:00 GMT+1' ) that i dont know. i tried to turn the index type of the date to textindex, but that didn't work because only letters are stored in it ( 'GMT' ). if this would work i could just search for the date because it gets seperated by blanks when it is put into the catalog ( '2000/01/01', '12:00:00', 'GMT+1' ). by Rick Pasotto 03 Nov '01

What have I stupidly done? I'm running debian and as unix root have run 'zpasswd.py inituser' and 'zpasswd.py access' but neither name will allow me to login to zope. I get an 'Unauthorized' message from zope.
