Z SQL insert statements running twice?
by Chris Cioffi 26 Sep '01

Here's my sql statment: insert into stsWaitLinks (userid, linkid, ldelete, wcatid, wurl, wtitle, wdescription) values (1, 0, 0, <dtml-sqlvar lcatid type="int">, <dtml-sqlvar lurl type="string">, <dtml-sqlvar ltitle type="string">, <dtml-sqlvar ldescription type="string">) Here's the DTML method that calls the above statement: <dtml-var links_menu> <div class="title"><dtml-var title_or_id></div> <dtml-call "add_waiting_link(lcatid=wcategory, lurl=wurl, ltitle=wtitle, ldescription=wdescription)"> <table border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"> <tr><td align="right"><span class="form_q">Title:</span></td> <td><span class="form_a"><dtml-var wtitle></span></td></tr> <tr><td align="right"><span class="form_q">Description:</span></td> <td><span class="form_a"><dtml-var wdescription></span></td></tr> <tr><td align="right"><span class="form_q">URL:</span></td> <td><span class="form_a"><dtml-var wurl></span></td></tr> <tr><td align="right"><span class="form_q">Category:</span></td> <dtml-in "category_name(catid=wcategory)"> <td><span class="form_a"><dtml-var category></span></td></tr> </dtml-in> </table> the variables wcategory, wurl, wtitle, wdescription come from a form that calls the above script. The form method is 'put'. This is just one example, the same problem occurs with all SQL insert statements on all other pages. It also happens when called from Python scripts. (I prefer to use Python scripts to make data validation easier.) Running the SQL statement in test mode gives the expected results, however, running the command from within the dtml method causes a double entry into the database. On my site I'm using the site layout method described in http://www.zope.org/Members/march/howtos/OnlyOneIndexHtml. I'm using Zope v2.3.3, Python 1.5.2 and MySQL 3.23.31 on a Mandrake 7.2 box. As always thanks for any clues. Chris

manage_changeProperties from Python, using ZClass instance located through ZCatalog
by Milos Prudek 26 Sep '01

m_id is tokens type property inside "data" propertysheet in a ZClass. This Python Script works fine when called on the ZClass. It changes the value of m_id property. new_m_id=[777,888,999] context.propertysheets.data.manage_changeProperties(m_id=new_m_id) However, the following script does not change the value of m_id property. It runs as if everything is ok. It finds correct instance using "title", the x[0].m_id and x[0].title show correct values, but the "line x[0].manage_changeProperties(m_id=new_m_id)" has no effect whatsoever. x=context.Catalog_Org(title="aaa") print x[0].m_id print x[0].title new_m_id=[999,888,777] x[0].manage_changeProperties(m_id=new_m_id) print x[0].m_id I tried to call "x[0].propertysheets.data.manage_changeProperties(m_id=new_m_id)", but it fails with Error Type: AttributeError, Error Value: data -- Milos Prudek

I think its something to do with your login to the ZMI being timed out, but your still browsing it, and rather than show the manage_main page, it shows the view page. - Tane Piper - ZZICT - http://www.zzict.com _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Geting a list of users with localroles
by Max M 26 Sep '01

How do I get a list of users that has some kind of local roles in the current context? Or is it possible to delete all localroles in a context? There is a method called "users_with_local_role()" in rolemanager, But it seems that I cannot acces it from dtml. regards Max M Max M. W. Rasmussen, Denmark. dtml-tree urlparam?
by Stephan Herschel 26 Sep '01

26 Sep '01

Hi, I want to supply a supplementary url-parameter on a page where i use a python tree-widget. That means with every new page i open while browsing the tree this url-parameter should also be supplied. I figured out this could work using the 'urlparam' attribute of the tree-widget like the following (with my_id holding the actual id i want to supply): <dtml-tree urlparam=my_id id=nod_id assume_children="1" branches_expr="classification(nodidx=nod_id)"> Unfortunately this does not work as such, the resulting url looks liek this: http://our_host/folder/mytreepage/?my_id&tree-e=.... 'my_id' is just inserted into the url as is, instead using the variables value. Does anybody have a solution for this strange behaviour? Thanks in advance! br, Stephan

We don't see this at ekit, and there's several people who use mozilla on linux _all_ the time. Hell, I track the trunk CVS, and I rarely have a problem - I haven't seen a basic auth regression for months :) mmmm bugzilly goodness. -- Anthony Baxter <anthony(a)interlink.com.au> It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

RE: [Zope] Two Zope services on NT
by Meilicke, Scott 26 Sep '01

I have been able to install two completely different version of zope, vs. just INSTANCE_HOME, on win2k workstation. I didn't do anything special besides install to a different directory, then modify the z2.py file for ports. Regarding the list search, it could be because it's doing an nt OR service, vs. nt AND server or even "nt service". The only way I've found of creating a second service (on a different set of ports, of course) is to export the Zope service subtree from the registry, make the necessary changes, and reimport. Or is there a better way? Answers or pointers to answers appreciated. BTW, why is the list archive index so poor? Win2K Performance?
by Jonathan (Listserv) 26 Sep '01

26 Sep '01

Hi all, Can anyone give me any useful data on Zope performance on Windows 2000 Server systems? How does it compare to Linux/Unix on the same hardware? Are there Zope on Win2K specific issues one should keep in mind when developing and deploying Zope apps? Couldn't find much in the archives... Cya Jonathan
