The option includes: - One instance of Zope running on one of our Personal Hosting servers, accessible through a domain name similar to: http://youraccount.personalzope.nipltd.net - Virtual Hosting of a domain name registered with a third-party DNS hosting service. For example: http://www.yourdomain.com --> http://youraccount.personalzope.nipltd.net - The ability to change Zope Versions quickly and easily. - Web-based account management with our Account Management System. - FTP access to your Zope Instance, Products, Extensions and logs. - WebDAV source port access to your Zope Instance. - Access to an SMTP mail server to send outgoing mail using, for example, a Zope MailHost object. The cost is £30 per month (roughly $40 per month). More information can be found at: http://www.nipltd.net/Personal This hosting option complements the Free, Professional and Enterprise Zope Hosting Options already available from http://www.nipltd.net. If you have any hosting-related questions, please send them to hosting(a)zope.nipltd.com. cheers, Chris

I've seen a lot of that wiki stuff passing by when roaming on zope.org. But never really found out what it's like. Anyone knows what it's like? The structured text thing seems worth to try however, I 'll have a look at it, Thanx. Grtx, Eric

I have posted an update to ZRTChat, Realtime Chat for Zope, at http://www.zope.org/Members/jwashin/ZRTChat It has some code cleanups, the new Product structure, inline Style, show/hide controls, and finally has a customizable (TTW DTML Methods) user interface. MIT License. Existing installations that wish to keep old chat items may copy and paste these into a newly-created instance of the updated product. -- Jim Washington

Hi, I'm real new to zope. I'm trying to find out if it's useful for us, so I want to create a small pilot site, without too much learning. However, I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of info and plugins available for Zope. So here's a small question, I want my users to be able to post messages in which they inserted 1 or more images. I do not want them to know dtml, nor to know html. So I need a form in which they can write their message, format it a bit (bold, underline, etc) and insert images. Is there something like that already? Newbie Help needed Using the Zope Object Database
by Bobby Mathew 25 Sep '01

25 Sep '01

Hi All, I have been playing around with Zope as a newbie for sometime now. Now I want to start using the Object Database for my regular applications. I know the paradigm of using Object databases being different from the regular RDBMS. Now I understand how to design persistent classes in the object paradigm but I am not clear how to store these classes within Zope in the database. Can someone enlighten me on how to create the following customer class as a persistent class within Zope. Customer Attributes : Name Age Methods : AddCustomer(Name, Age) DeleteCustomer(Name) LocateCustomer(Name) I know about using python to create classes but its not clear how to use python scripts and how to store persistent classes with Zope itself instead of python. Help... Thanks for any thoughts on this... bobby

installing CMF
by Stephan Goeldi 25 Sep '01

25 Sep '01

I installed CMF 1.1 according to the installation instructions into the Products directory of a Zope 2.4.1 instance (tried /lib/python/Products first, but in instruction is written /Products, I tried it at both places inclusive restart of Zope). CMF doesn't show up in the Products of Control Panel. Is there anything known as not working with Zope 2.4.1 and CMF 1.1? Did I miss something? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

RE: [Zope] My classes does not support copy and paste!

Apparently there have been responses to my original request, but I never got those due to the nuking of our e-mail server by the infamous Nimda virus. To all people who responded : Thanks Etienne -----Original Message----- From: Etienne Labuschagne [mailto:ELabuschagne@gims.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 1:56 PM To: Zope User List (E-mail) Subject: [Zope] My classes does not support copy and paste! Hi all, What am I doing wrong if my class doesn't support copy and paste or renaming? The class inherits from the basic Zope objects and also (the one) from the Folder class. When I try to copy and paste or rename an instance of my new class, I get the "The object Foo does not support this operation" error. Thanks Etienne

RE: [Zope] My classes does not support copy and paste!

Ok, solved my own problem (eventually) If the Meta Type (found under the Basic management tab of the new class) differs from the Add list name (found in the class' factory) then the class won't support rename and copying operations. I don't know if this should be obvious, but it wasn't for me! Thanks. That did the trick. I copied the list for archival purposes. CST is a great product that I really enjoy using.
