Fragmented DTML
by Paul Zwarts 16 Aug '01

16 Aug '01

Hi all, Would it at all be possible that one were to fragment dtml code between objects? Say you always use a header and footer, could you not enforce a <dtml-let data="SESSION.getSessionData()"> </dtml-let>between the header and footer? My thought is not as the developer is the only one that knows the header and footer are always executed in a chain. Just thought maybe someone thought of it before and had some kind of product or a suggestion how to enforce the CoreSession presence without rewriting everypage to make the data param. Thanks, Paz

SiteRoot in Zope 2.4.0
by Eric Vautour 16 Aug '01

16 Aug '01

Hello all, I installed the new version of zope and I set it up using various SiteRoot objects. Everything seems to be working correctly except that the "Folder at /email/OLD" link does not seem to work. It does not follow the base set up in the SiteRoot object. Furthermore, (this is not important but might be related) the link to the style sheet that the management screen uses can not be found. Does anyone know if there is a fix to this? Thanks

select.error: (4, 'Interrupted system call')
by John Ziniti 16 Aug '01

16 Aug '01

Hey all, I've been getting this all day today since I upgraded to Python 2.1.1 and Zope-2.4.0. It seems to happen randomly, but mostly when I am moving around the ZMI, the more I move around, the more likely it is to occur. It also brings down the Zope server, requiring a restart and is thuis rather annoying. Any ideas on causes, fixes, hunches? The traceback (printed to console) follows. Traceback (most recent call last): File "/u01/zope/Zope-2.4.0-src/z2.py", line 774, in ? asyncore.loop() File "/u01/zope//lib/python2.1/asyncore.py", line 194, in loop poll_fun (timeout, map) File "/u01/zope//lib/python2.1/asyncore.py", line 86, in poll r,w,e = select.select (r,w,e, timeout) select.error: (4, 'Interrupted system call') Thanks in advance, Ziniti -- John Ziniti Channing Laboratory Brigham and Women's Hospital 181 Longwood Avenue Brookline, MA 02115 john.ziniti(a)channing.harvard.edu

bug in dtml-in parametrics
by Peter Bengtsson 16 Aug '01

I tried something like this: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('bstart',0)"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('bsize',3)"> Show the <dtml-var "REQUEST['bsize']"> first items <dtml-in sequence orphan="0" start="REQUEST['bstart']" size="REQUEST['bsize']"> But I got a KeyError on "REQUEST['bsize']" !! Not on REQUEST['bstart'] or <dtml-var "REQUEST['bsize']"> Here's the odd cure which works: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('bstart',0)"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('bsize',3)"> Show the <dtml-var "REQUEST['bsize']"> first items <dtml-let inches="REQUEST['bsize']"> <dtml-in sequence orphan="0" start="REQUEST['bstart']" size=inches> Has this been reported? Am I missing something about the size parameter? Zope 2.3.0, python 1.5.2

data.fs and zeo
by Fritz Mesedilla 16 Aug '01

16 Aug '01

I'm sorry but I am really getting irritated with the 2GB limit! Data.fs packing also doesn't work while zeo is running. How can I pack Data.fs without turning zeo off? It doesn't work in the Management Screen. The management screen for the zeo server is also connecting to it like it is a remote server. Is this the problem? But when I try to start zope without activating the custom_zodb.py, it won't start. I have to make zope think it is trying to connect to a different server. Please help me! RE: [Zope] CoreSessionTracking-based LoginMethod for LoginManager
by Andy Gimblett 16 Aug '01

OK, I've decided to a) Release (later today) an unstable version of what I've done so far so that others can look at it/play with it/fix it/ laugh at it/argue over it. :-) b) Just use basic cookie login for now and get the other parts working (eg I also have to write a UserSource). c) Think about the "secure cookie" method after I've done that (thanks for the tips Florent/Joachim), and see what feedback I've had from a) by that time. Russell, If you can, why don't you just remove the Python that ships with Debian and install it from source into a standard location (/usr/local/)? Then everything else should follow along smoothly...

URL Traversal help needed. SOLVED
by jkinsley 16 Aug '01

16 Aug '01

Greetings again.... I knew this was possible, but I kept getting a 'not found' error when I tried it. I just created a new script and put a print request in it, and instead of the error I found what I am looking for in REQUEST.traverse_subpath. Regards, Jarrod ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 16 Aug 2001 06:00:48 -0400 (EDT) From: jkinsley <jkinsley(a)bticc.net> To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] URL Traversal help needed. Greetings.... Assuming I have: /folder/script What do I need to implement within script so that I can call http://www.mysite.com/folder/script/opt/subopt then be able to use opt and subopt within script. I would like opt/subopt to be split at the '/' and available as a tuple or a list. TIA, Jarrod

Hi try : manage_delObjects(id) Sylvain -----Message d'origine----- De : zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]De la part de Robert Rottermann Envoyé : jeudi 16 août 2001 11:22 À : zope(a)zope.org Objet : [Zope] how to delete an object from python?? Hi there, I wonder how to delete an object from a python script. When I try oName = context.this().getId() f = context.REQUEST.PARENTS[1] f._delObject( oName ) I can not even save the script because zope complains that SyntaxError, Names starting with "_" are not allowed (_delObject). redirect to 'folder_delete' I can not use either, because it tries to call 'folder_contents' which is not possible at the point where I am. Why is id sometimes a string and sometimes a function
by Robert Rottermann 16 Aug '01

16 Aug '01

Hello all, I am trying to create a function that reacts diferently depending in what folder it is called. No my problem: if have to call context.REQUEST.PARENTS[0].id() however context.REQUEST.PARENTS[1].id() creates an error, I have to use context.REQUEST.PARENTS[1].id why is this so?? Robert
