NameError: CLIENT_HOME.
by Erik Enge 01 Aug '01

Hi, I'm trying to get ZEO 1.0 b3 and Zope 2.3.3 to play nicely together, but I'm struggling on some strange NameError. I followed the Advanced How-to of dshaw for setting it up; building from source made ZEO barf on the tests... looks like the tests are only for python 2.1? When I try zctl.py start, this is what I get: erik@somewhere:~/development/zope-farm/zope-2.3.3/instancehome$ ./zctl.py start Starting default Zope... Traceback (innermost last): File "/home/erik/development/zope-farm/zope-2.3.3/softwarehome/z2.py", line 547, in ? zdaemon.run(sys.argv, os.path.join(CLIENT_HOME, Zpid)) NameError: CLIENT_HOME Any ideas?

parameters X dtml document
by Alexandre R. Dafoe de Aguiar 01 Aug '01

01 Aug '01

Im having some trouble on using URL parameters in zope. What I'm doing: I put in the browser: http://xxxxxxxxxxx.com/document?param=testpage Then in the 'document' page I have the following code: <dtml-var param> Then, what I get in the browser is the strin "testpage", instead of what I wanted, wich would be the content of the 'testpage' document. How can I make the content of test page appear?? Thanks a lot

Problem with installation of XSLTemplate 0.1
by Neunreither, Isabelle 01 Aug '01

Hi, I try to install the new Product XSLTemplate. I did a standard installation from the following required tools: expat 1.95.2, Sablotron 0.52 and sab-pyth 0.52 (i'm not a unix guru!) Then I imported the XSLTemplate Product in Zope. I restarted Zope and then ... i only became the following error. Could someone help me? Traceback (innermost last): File "/opt/zope/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 528, in import_products product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "/opt/zope/lib/python/Products/XSLTemplate/__init__.py", line 3, in ? from XSLTemplate import XSLTemplate, manage_addXSLTemplate, addXSLTemplate File "/opt/zope/lib/python/Products/XSLTemplate/XSLTemplate.py", line 12, in ? import Sablot ImportError: shared object not open Thanks in advance, Isabelle email: in(a)konsylo.com

ZDG production question
by Bill Anderson 01 Aug '01

01 Aug '01

OK, so I snarfed the DevGuide (ohhh yeah!) from CVS, after hearing that it was written in stx, and converted to pdf et al. In particular, I was hoping to find somehting that sucked in a file in foo.stx format, and spit it out as foo.html (or better, foo.pdf :)) While id did find the htmldoc conversion script useful, there was nothing indicating how the .stx files were converted into .html files for htmldoc to then parse? I am not be the only one who would find this useful, am I? Or am I the only one missing out where the scripts are? Bill

ParsedXML, or Zope and XML?
by Jørgen Hermanrud Fjeld 31 Jul '01

31 Jul '01

Hi. Is anyone using ParsedXML? What are the experiences? I can see that the maintainer of ParsedXML has left Zope Corporation. Does anyone know how development will be ahead? Are there any plans to have XML repositories in Zope, with XSL/XSLT applied when rendering the page? -- MVH Jørgen H. Fjeld
