File Uploads and SSL
by Phil Harris 31 Jul '01

31 Jul '01

HI all, I'm having a very strange problem, and I hope at someone else has had this happen to them ;) When using SSL and Zope (versions ranging from 2.3.1 to 2.3.3), I have a form that allows upload of a document. The problem is that files over 11-12k in size never finish. If I take SSL out of the equation then files of arbitrary size upload and finish with no problem. I've tried this with M2Crypto and Apache mod_ssl and both suffer from the same problem. I have no real idea what's going on here, anyone else have any ideas? tia Phil

Re: Is there a "Virtual Folder" Product??

Hi Dieter, hi other fellow Zopists, sorry for sending HTML formatted Emails and that BCC thing... Thanks for your help! I would really be interested in that hotfix solution, but I have not yet understood, if my following code would do what you meant with: "You would need to merge the Application's __bobo_traverse__ with that of MFolder". --- snip ---- from OFS.Application import Application from Products.MFolder import MFolder Application.__bobo_traverse__ = MFolder.__bobo_traverse__ --- snip ---- Or would I have to define a new __bobo_traverse__ (i.e. "merge" both of them - how?) and assign that new one to Application.__bobo_traverse__ ? It would be very nice if you could still provide me with further information/implementation despite me being rude with BCC. Another "problem" I'm currently having with MFolder I have described in the mailing list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zope/message/67633 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zope/message/67642 which concern index_html difficulties. It would be great if you could look into this one as well. Thanks in advance, Philipp Robbel

URL parameters and Dtml var
by Alexandre Aguiar 31 Jul '01

31 Jul '01

Im having some trouble on using URL parameters in zope. What I'm doing: I put in the browser: http://xxxxxxxxxxx.com/document?param=3Dtestpage Then in the 'document' page I have the following code: <dtml-var param> Then, what I get in the browser is the strin "testpage", instead of what = I wanted, wich would be the content of the 'testpage' document. How can I make the content of test page appear?? Thanks a lot

Strange Behaviour in my dtml-method
by Karl Munroe 31 Jul '01

31 Jul '01

I am having some problems with a little bit of code I wrote that is of the following format : 1 <dtml-call SomeExpensiveFunction> 2 <dtml-in someListIHave> 3 <dtml-if "_['sequence-item'] == ''"> 4 <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('page_to_see_error_message')"> 5 </dtml-if> 6 </dtml-in> 7 <dtml-call AddSomethingToMyDatabase> 8 <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('page_to_see_results')"> The above code processes some data that I input from a form. I left a field blank and I would be redirected at line 4 to see the error message. Unfortunately I got something else. Instead of stopping at line 4 the above code redirects me at line 8 executing line 7 in the process. # When I redirect from a dtml method, is such a redirect functionally equivalent to a return statement in C that causes processing to stop??? #I interpret that behaviour to mean that the the above code executes until the loop is finished and then continues to execute. The result is that I am redirected twice, first to see the error message and finally to see the results. If this is the case, is there a tag to stop looping and "return". Thanks in advance Karl

Hi All

Hello everybody. I am an absolute zope newbie and I just got id downloaded and installed. Although there were some error messages during the install it seems to be working ok. My main purpose in installing zope was to try out some of the products that come with zope like the CMF. I downloaded the CMF package and tried to follow the instructions on the zope.com web site and immediately got stuck. It says. Link (or copy/move) the CMF packages into $INSTANCE_HOME/Products. For instance: $ cd /var/zope/Products $ ln -s /usr/local/zope/CMF-1.1/CMF* Well I don't see a products directory anywhere. I see an extensions directory so I untarred it there but it still does not show up anywhere. What do I do next? P.S Red hat linux. :wq Tim Uckun US Investigations Services/Due Diligence http://www.diligence.com/

Re: [Zope] forcing all pythonscripts to recompile.

>>> "Norman Khine" wrote > you need to open the actual script and save it. i don't think there is a > simpler way, although, you may write a python script, which will open the > files and then save it, but you are on your own here;^) Given that this is dozens of scripts, and that you can't even use 'Find' to find them all (since 'Find' won't traverse into ZClasses) this is a pretty unpleasant task. It also means that the Last Changed date on all scripts will be reset to today - not good if you use the last changed at all when using the mgmt interface. Anthony

Philipp Robbel writes: > I hope I interpreted your "if they come to me" correctly and I have > attached a plain text file with the two newsgroup post's contents. Outlook WebAccess seems to aim at communication with Windows people only: Your attached "plain text" messages were wrapped in an "application/ms-tnef" part. My (Linux) mail reader does not understand this proprietary Microsoft format.... I decoded in the dark and see, besides lots of uninterpretable binary data, there have been your text messages.... Usually, I refuse to handle Microsoft proprietary formats.... > When I type in the following URL into the browser: > http://server/root/german/research/ProjectOne > I get the english standard_html_header along with ProjectOne's index_html. > > Is there a way to modify your great product so that ProjectOne's index_html <dtml-var standard_html_header/footer> > get the german's standard_html_header/footer? This may be possible but it is an order of magnitude more work than the current MFolder and it will be much slower. The current MFolder uses Zope's acquisition to make the mirrored content available in the corresponding folders. Acquisition uses "Containment before Context" to look up names. This ensures that (in your example) the German objects are found by a web request in the German area unless the targeted object is not there. Then the object in the mirrored folder is found. However, the "Containment" of an english object is the english folder (while the context contains the german folder, if accessed via this way). Therefore, if an english object references a name, it is preferable found in the english hierarchy and only if not found there, the german context is searched. To change this behavior, it would be necessary to implement your own name lookup. > I'm using a breadcrumb system on my page that currently uses obj.absolute_url() to add the links. > The absolute_url() that the Aims Document accessed via http://server/deutsch/research/Aims returns is > still http://server/english/research/Aims (the physical place). I discovered this fact only recently, too: The "absolute" in "absolute_url" indicates, that the URL is independent of the access context, based solely on its physical location. If you need the breakcrumbs only in a kind of management interface (what I expect), you can use "URLPATH1" (maybe URLPATH0) as starting point, as in this case the object's URL is strongly related to the request URL.
