Hi all, I have a question. I've written my first python product for zope. It works until I try to access attributes of a base class. Background: Worker is a class with User as a base class. In Firm.py ... import Being ... class Worker ( Being.User, Acquisition.Implicit, Persistent, AccessControl.Role.RoleManager, OFS.SimpleItem.Item, ): ... The problem occurs when I initialize a worker instance. The statement Being.User.__init__(self, firstname, lastname, email) in the __init__ method of the worker class raises a TypeError. I'm a bit confused since this statement works in plain python. HTMLDocument kludge for Zope 2.4.0b3

I was able to eliminate a fatal error when loading HTMLDocument 0.2 in Zope 2.4.0b3 by commenting # __implements__ = IHTMLDocument # XXX ??? in HTMLDocument.py The alternative is to have Util.py check "interfaces" before trying to iterate over it. External cgi - filesystem

Hello, I'm becoming crazy ;-) so I hope my question will be somewhat clear. I'd like to create an external method that get's a zope image object, write it to the filesystem (1), execute an external executable on it (2), and put a resulting file back into zope (3). [Ann] Mirrowing Folder: mirrows a subfolder recursively onto another subfolder during traversal

Sometimes you have a Web application in several variants. A prominent example is the same application for different languages. In such a case, you will want to separate the common parts out and maintain them just once. Nevertheless, the variant parts should be able to reference the common parts as if they had not been factored out. This situation is the main use case for Mirrowing Folder. A mirrowing folder is a folder that is able to map one subfolder into each of its other subfolders. Under the assumption that all subfolders have essentially the same structure, the subfolders of the mirrowed folder are recursively mapped during traversal onto the corresponding subfolders in the folder selected by the request URL. Content there can access the mirrowed objects (almost) as if they were physically located beside them. Mirrowing Folder is similar to Transparent Folder but what becomes visible depends on the request URL. Therefore, name clashes are less of a problem. What is the best place for an /Images directory ?

Would someone please take a minute to explain their recommendation and reasoning behind where best to locate (/usr/local/images, /usr/local/zope/images, /usr/local/zope/var/images) static images? I'm using LocalFile and CoreSession products also. I'm new administering Linux (RedHat 7.1) so any help/theory you can offer will be greatly appreciated. My remark was based on folkore that Zope is about an order of magnitude slower for static pages than Apache. It may be that the factor is lower for large files. However, when I chased errors in "HTTPResponse.HTTPResponse.write" (back in version 2.1.6), I recognized that such a write does not go straight to the HTTP connection but goes through an intermediate file. Thus, your large file is copied once at the server side before it is streamed out to the browser. And there is some Python code around that controls this buffering. Thus, I expect that ZServer is at least twice as slow as direct serving the file. Dieter

User Authentication

Personal Saudacoes! In the application that I am developing, my users will not use the screen of management of zope. Thus, that one would like to make authentication of the users in the similar system that the Zope.Org uses. http://www.zope.org/login.html?came_from=http://www.zope.org/login.html I use " acl_users " of the ZODB. This, possesss some attributes as: " name ", " password ", " confirm ", " roules " and "domains ". I obtained to add to users with methods manipulating these attributes. It would like now, to legalize an user ' xyz ' in zope without using " /manage " for example, and also, without calling the screen authentication standard that is invoked when we have access objects that require " Access contents information ". Somebody worked with authentication of users in the Zope of this form? Somebody could help? DCOracle2 icons

Hello all, have just installed DCOracle2 on SuSE 7.1, Zope 2.3.1 (SuSE RPM, uses Python 2.0).
