We bought a Cube 1 in 1998, and we did use Zope on it for a while, until Zope started requiring Python 1.5.2 compiled with threads. We never managed to compile that in our Cube, and the key drawback of that first generation was the lack of support for upgrading the OS. AFAIK, newer Cubes make it easier to upgrade the OS. The real test is this: can you compile Python 1.5.2 (and now Python 2.1) on it? Once that is solved, the rest is easy. acquisition / dtml-with problem

OK, I have a dtml document called "Foo". This works fine when I view the document. Now let's say this document is in the folder called FooFolder in which there is a folder called SubFolder. Now I can call Foo_dtml as either FooFolder/Foo_dtml, or as FooFolder/SubFolder/Foo_dtml through the magic of acquisition. No problem so far, all is good. Here's the problem. If I put this code in Foo_dtml: <dtml-with images> <dtml-var izea-sundial.jpeg> </dtml-with> ... it works fine when called as FooFolder/Foo_dtml but NOT when called as FooFolder/SubFolder/Foo_dtml . hello (again), i want to display rows of content with alterning colors (one white row, one grey row) but my content isn't always there (i have an if around those tr tags) : ItemA (grey) ItemB (white) ItemD (grey) ItemE (white) ItemC is empty i thin i have to look at item_sequence, but since it's not really a sequence (just stuff (text properties) that i want to make look like one) it doesn't work out of the box. maybe assigning a variable at the begining and counting the loops (ugly, i might as well code this in asp ;-) ? any ideas ? $ven

Passing a list through a form?

I've been looking for the preferred way to send a list through a form to another DTML document. What I'm trying to do is something like this. <form name="jumpform" method="post" action="pg_errors"> <input type="hidden" name="f_errors:list" value="<dtml-var f_errors>"> </form> Where f_errors contains a list of strings which may contain characters (including >'s and "'s) which destroy this form quickly. I have not been able to determine what format the value="" field should take in order for this form to send a list. Can someone clarify how this value="" field should be created so that my calling document recieves data capable of being reconstructed into a list? NOTE: jumpform is javascript submitted by a custom header. Hi, I was wondering if Cobalt and Zope are compatible. I may wish to run my Zope application on a Cobalt cube but it currently is not configured to run Zope. It comes pre-installed with Apaches 1.3. Any known issues? Perhaps there is a company that provides a turnkey zope+Apache solution. Also, I'm sure that is is possible to run multiple sessions of Zope. Need help with ':records' form construct

Hello, I'm hoping that one of you can help me out with the not-very-well-documented ' :records ' form construct. I have a long form which contains information from around 100 separate database records.. This is being sent into Zope from a FileMaker form.. Its displayed in a long Zope form (it displays properly...) and edited.. and then I'm hoping to submit it from Zope and use the information to populate a SQL database via a ZSQL method.. I've tried two different ways to get it into my database, both iterating through the results and calling the SQL method on each iteration, and also doing my dtml-in in the ZSQL method itself. Neither have worked.. The ZSQL documentation doesn't give much to go on.... so I'm hoping some of you can give me some pointers.. The data is mixed strings and integer data, but that shouldnt be a problem.. When I point the forms action at a method with simply <dtml-var REQUEST> in it, I see that it appears that the data is being concatenated together.. Is this what is supposed to be happening? presenting a list of stuff

hello, i'd like to know whats the most elegant/practical/usefull way of displying a list of stuff (that might or might not be there). i have a zclass with a couple of boolean properties and i'd like to display a list of *true* items this way : ItemA,ItemB,ItemD,ItemE. (itemC is false) i can do it pretty easily with a bunch of dtml-if (but it looks too ugly and my fingers hurt !) and i can't kill the "," before the last point. p.s. i would prefer to do it in dtml since this has a lot more to do with presentation than logic and since the guys who will be coming after me will be even less python-enabled than i am ;-) thx, $ven

Accentuation with ZCatalog...
