hi there, i have NFGnav 0.6 (with update to 0.7.1) in use for a website that i want to access through http://www.website.org/zope (through PCGI and apache rewrite) and at the same time through http://www.provider.ch:8180/ (through the method navbar_dtml uses <a href="<dtml-var itemURL>"> <dtml-with navbar> <dtml-in navItems sort=id> <dtml-if "inPath(REQUEST)"> <td bgcolor="#F9F344" align=center nowrap> <a href="<dtml-var itemURL>"> <dtml-var title></a> </td> <dtml-else> <td align=center nowrap> <a href="<dtml-var itemURL>"> <dtml-var title></a> </td> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> unfortunately if i have a path in the BasePath-Property e.g. "/reports" it will overwrite the "/zope" part. if i don't have the path in BasePath-Property it will add up like http://www.website.org/zope/report/reports/reports on further clicks to these items. what do i do wrong? is there any way to use <dtml-var URL2> or so?? thanks for help olaf -- soli-con Engineering Zanger, Dipl.-Ing. PHP Object

Dear Ioan, Could you help me to implement PHP Object. I have installed it on FreeBSD which is running Zope 2.3.1b1 with python 2.0, I installed the PHP Object Product which is NOT broken and can add PHP objects within the Zope tree. Zope in academic/educational/scientific environments (important)

Hi, We (a smal group) have build a quite comprehensive (but still far from perfect in our opinion) Zope based system in wich teachers can offer websupport with their courses. It's a sort of content management system for teachers. Students can also deliver content. There are groupware fascilites and more. This is all realized in a rather large social sciences faculty within a dutch university. We have a relative large, happy, userbase but....... It has been quite a struggle. Not the development sec but 'selling' Zope as a platform and facing competitors in the ,so called weblearning world. Now we're facing a battle with Blackboard (I'm just recovering from an attack by some idiots who want to rebuild the whole thing with PHP, Dutch universities: never a dull moment.....). What realy would help us (in defending our system and Zope) is a list universities, schools etc. who are using Zope for educational/scientific/content management purposes. I'm monitoring/contributing to (not as much as some of you I'm afraid) this list and I noticed that quite some activity on the Zope front is happening in academic/scientefic/educational environments but I never kept any taps. So if you are using Zope in this sort of environment please let me know. You can mail me direct: linde(a)fsw.leidenuniv.nl. If I have a list I put it on Zope.org so that other people can use to defend their (potential) Zope efforts to decisionmakers, a sort of academic/educational showcase. Henny van der Linde

DocBook + Zope

Hey everyone, I understand that there's quite a bit of interest in making Zope work well with XML. I'm an XML beginner, but I'm interested doing some writing using the DocBook DTD (the XML version). Help regarding databse & variable management

Hello, I have a problem in database connectivity in Zope with Postgres. If anybody can help me in this regard please reply asap. I want to insert a row into a tabel, get a unique id from the table and make another entry into another table.I am able to insert into the forst table and retrieve the unique ID. "I don't know what is there, I don't know what you're doing, I don't know what any of this evening means, but I don't believe there's a horse in your bathroom." And brushing aside Reg's further protestations he went up to look. The bathroom was not large. The walls were panelled in old oak linenfold which, given the age and nature of the building, was quite probably priceless, but otherwise the fittings were stark and institutional. There was old, scuffed, black-and-white checked linoleum on the floor, a small basic bath, well cleaned but with very elderly stains and chips in the enamel, and also a small basic basin with a toothbrush and toothpaste in a Duralex beaker standing next to the taps. Screwed into the probably priceless panelling above the basin was a tin mirror-fronted bathroom cabinet. It looked as if it had been repainted many times, and the mirror was stained round the edges with condensation. The lavatory had an old-fashioned cast-iron chain-pull cistern. There was an old cream-painted wooden cupboard standing in the corner, with an old brown bentwood chair next to it, on which lay some neatly folded but threadbare small towels. There was also a large horse in the room, taking up most of it. Richard stared at it, and it stared at Richard in an appraising kind of way. Richard swayed slightly. The horse stood quite still. After a while it looked at the cupboard instead. It seemed, if not content, then at least perfectly resigned to being where it was until it was put somewhere else. It also seemed... what was it? It was bathed in the glow of the moonlight that strearned in through the window. The window was open but small and was, besides, on the second floor, so the notion that the horse had entered by that route was entirely fanciful. There was something odd about the horse, but he couldn't say what. Well, there was one thing that was clearly very odd about it indeed, which was that it was standing in a college bathroom. One of the differences between running a method from the trigger tab and from the Dispatcher is permissions. At the trigger tab, the method runs with your permissions; when fired from the Dispatcher, the method runs as Anonymous User. You must us "proxy roles" to give the method sufficient permissions to do what you want it to do. If the Sheduled Time is advancing as planned, the Dispatcher is firing the event. It's hard to imagine how it could fire the event but not make an entry in the log. To use FastCGI to serve a virtual, I'd have the vitual defined in my httpd.conf something like this: <VirtualHost 1.2.3.4> ServerAdmin gimbo(a)ftech.net ServerName foo.bar.com ErrorLog logs/foo_error.log CustomLog logs/foo_access.log common FastCgiExternalServer /usr/local/apache/htdocs/foo \ -host localhost:8889 \ -pass-header Authorization SetHandler fastcgi-script </VirtualHost> Looking at that, I can't see any way to tell it to pass the request to a subdirectory of the Zope tree being served up by the ZServer listening on 8889. So the effect is that foo.bar.com is a virtual for the entire Zope tree instead. Which is fine if that's what you want, but not if you want to serve subtrees. As I say, maybe there's another parameter to FastCgiExternalServer which does it, but I haven't found it.
