by Gitte Wange 05 Apr '01

Hmmm confusing subject :-) What I need to do is this: Get some data out of my database (in a <dtml-in> tag) While iterating through this data, I need to get some more data out out my database (another <dtml-in> tag. I tried to call the second sql method with a <dtml-var> from the first sql method but I get an error. So how do I collect some data from my database with a result from the first sql method ? Format problem in Squishdot 1.0.0
by F. Zorge 05 Apr '01

05 Apr '01

Hi, I am using Squishdot 1.0.0. I have translated all of the content to Dutch, and I have two questions/problems: 1. I want the data format to be European like 31-12-2001 in stead of 12-31-2001.But it seems not possible to format the standard variable <dtml-var date_created> in European style. I tried <dtml-var date_created frm="%d/%m/%Y"> and several other compositions but I keep getting error messages, like "not alle converted" or key-error. Does anyone know how to format this Squishdot date? 2. When a message has been posted the user gets a message in English (You article has been posted). I like to translate this message to, but I don't know where to find it. Thanks Frank

There is no method to get the users' password by default for security reasons. If you do need to get it, you can do so with wither an External method or a base-class method. The basic syntax is: user = self.acl_users.getUser(user_id) password = user.__ It's stored that way because things beginning with an underscore can't be accessed directly from DTML. If you DO have a method such as this one, be careful to require that the user calling it is the one whose password is requested. zope-request(a)zope.org said: > Thanks but this did not work either - is GetPassword a built in Zope method > or one that your have created yourself?? > > >> From: Daniel Rusch <drusch(a)globalcrossing.com> >> To: Samantha Stansbie <s_stansbie(a)hotmail.com> >> CC: zope(a)zope.org >> Subject: Re: [Zope] ---> CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP?? Cascading Style Sheets in Netscape 6
by Craig Stoddart 05 Apr '01

I have been using CSS in both IE5 and Netscape 4.75 without any problems at all, however parts of the CSS do not work in Netscape 6. This part of my CSS still works: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('site_fonts', 'Comic Sans MS')"> However, variables that I have set myself do not work in Netscape 6, such as: .OAAmenuhead { background-color: blue; font-size: 9pt; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; font-family: Comic Sans MS; } The above works perfectly in both Netscape 4.75 and IE5 though. Is there some piece of code that needs to be changed for it to work in Netscape 6? Has anyone else encountered this problem? ------------------------------------------------- Craig Stoddart IT Software Development Officer Dundee City Council IT Division Northern College Technical Block Gardyne Road Dundee DD5 1NY Phone: 01382 438170 Fax: 01382 438002 E-mail: craig.stoddart(a)dundeecity.gov.uk -------------------------------------------------

Hello, A couple of days ago there was a posting on this list regarding creating new users with a form "outside" of Zope - directly from a website. I didn't see any replys to this post. I want to be able to so the same thing but are not sure how. Any how-to's on this subject? -- ************************ Gitte Wange Jensen System Squid Developer MMManager Aps +45 29 72 79 72 gitte(a)mmmanager.org ************************

RE: [Zope] Virtual Hosting configuration for Zope
by Capesius, Alan 05 Apr '01

Yes, the point would be to be able to do this with ZServer and not Apache. Lacking an Apache server, and wanting to dump IIS, I opted for a ZServer only solution. Bookmark manager protype
by Chris Gray 05 Apr '01

05 Apr '01

I've got a proof-of-concept prototype of a bookmark manager up and running and if anyone is interested I'd like people to try it out and give me some feedback. The idea was to allow creation of a Web-accessible set of bookmarks as easily as creation of bookmarks local to a browser without having to fill out forms. It came out of frustration from trying to keep track of bookmarks in multiple browsers on multiple computers at multiple locations. I wanted it all to work on the Web and not depend on locally installed software so I could even get to my bookmarks when visiting a friend or at a public access machine. I've done it by having Zope act in effect like a proxy browser or a Browser-in-a-Browser. You browse the web in the main frame of a page and the upper frame has a form to enter a new address and links to create or view bookmarks. The main problem is that heavily scripted pages often don't work in the proxy browser, so I've provided a means at any step of the way to escape the proxy browser to look at the page directly. If you're interested, you can see the prototype at: http://cpgray.lib.uwaterloo.ca:8180/noddies/bookmarkerExperiment/browserFra… One 'feature' I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to like URLs consisting of a domain only (e.g. http://www.zope.org/ vs. http://www.zope.org/index_html) Cheers, Chris
