indirect calling of methods with parameters

Sorry, but this is above me head! I'm trying to call a method that needs parameters indirectly. Well, after reading some docs i believe to somehow understand how indirect calling of variables works. What's more, everything is fine when no parameters are involved: <dtml-let method="SomeMethod"> <dtml-var method> </dtml-let> <dtml-let method="'SomeMethod'"> <dtml-var "_[methode]"> </dtml-let> Both Variants call SomeMethod, which is fine! On the other hand i'm totally lost when parameters are involved. I for example tried to build my commandcall as a string. But using _[] won't work as it naturally won't call the method but look for an object with a kind of unusal name, which doesn't exist. It seems like i need some kind of eval construct. Any suggestions? Hello, Being new to zope, I hope this is relevant. I just putted together an article about the way I see future Zope products. It is available at : http://123piano.com/en/webdesign/zope-products/default.htm A little extract : "What seems to be a pain when creating a product is the fact that you need to provide your own User Interface. Why do I need to create a specific UI to let the user update the title of my product? And if I want to have my user edit the title trough ftp? Webdav? Do I have to take care of this as well? We should easily agree that UI is not a part of the product, but a part of Zope." If you have any comments to share, let's discuss ! I hope this idea has not been dicussed 100 times before. Mike, Thank you. Yes, it most certainly is worth reading, and I appreciate your help. Is this really what everyone does? I was planning on trying to do something like this if I couldn't find a format that displays the dates or hours sans leading zeros the way I need them. So how do people do this? I use dates and times a lot, in all sorts of ways, and this represents a lot of extra typing.. So, my first thought is to attempt to build a method for time-string processing. Has anyone done this already? I'm relatively new to Zope and given my relative inexperience and fairly substantial workload I'd hate to reinvent the wheel if it wasn't necessary... Alejandro, If I remember correctly, ZSQL Methods only see variables from REQUEST and those explicitly passed to the method. This seems odd to me, as I'm am usually in there during the same exact hours. I would imagine this is just a mere coincidence that you saw no activity. Although keep in mind, some of us actually have to do real work during those hours, so reponse times may not be the greatest. To be brutally honest, even most of my activity there appears after work hours (to the tune of 9pm EST or later) Also keep in mind the time zone thing again. Zope is international baby! ;-) Another affect on all this is, that there are quite a few "newbie" users in the channel as well. It may be that the userbase that was hanging around at the time you asked questions simply just couldn't answer. Now, I'm not trying to say that IRC is better than the mailing list or vice versa, I'm just saying, don't let the initial lack of response leave a sour taste in your mouth. .tag method of image and class declarations ?

the .tag-method of images does not seem to accept 'class' as a parameter.. this is not so neat when building sites based on css for layout..
