tree view in LocalFS
by David Kulp 23 Mar '01

23 Mar '01

LocalFS has a property "Display in Tree View" which says: This controls whether the Local File System object will be displayed in the management tree and other instances of the <dtml-tree> tag. Indeed, checking this box causes the tree to appear in the left zope panel, but if I create my dtml method then the localFS can not be traversed in a dtml-tree. The localFS displays as a branch but there is no '+' to traverse it. Any thoughts? Thanks, David.

hi, servel stringify your i's: s = s + "<input type=hidden value='%s' name='filename%s'>" % ((REQUEST.filename + str(i)), i) or you can iterator = str(i) s = s + "<input type=hidden value='%s' name='filename%s'>" % ((REQUEST.filename + iterator)), iterator) ----------------------------------------------------- Hello Jim, I already tried to stringified my i's during my preview attempts. Here is the message error I received when I attempted to use this kind of solutions: <html><head><title>yannick</title></head><body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <table border="0" width="100%"> <tr valign="TOP"> <td width="10%" align="center"> <img src="http://ltg2.comp.glam.ac.uk:8080/p_/ZButton" alt="Zope"> </td> <td width="90%"> <h2>Zope Error</h2> <p>Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource.</p> <p> <strong>Error Type: KeyError</strong><br> <strong>Error Value: filename</strong><br> </p> <hr noshade> <p>Troubleshooting Suggestions</p> <ul> <li>This resource may be trying to reference a nonexistent object or variable <strong>filename</strong>.</li> <li>The URL may be incorrect.</li> <li>The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect.</li> <li>A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error.</li> </ul> <p>For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the HTML source for this page. </p> <p>If the error persists please contact the site maintainer. Thank you for your patience. </p> </td></tr> </table> <p><a href="http://www.zope.org/Credits" target="_top"><img src="http://ltg2.comp.glam.ac.uk:8080/p_/ZopeButton" width="115" height="50" border="0" alt="Powered by Zope" /></a></p></body></html>  For some reasons, it refuses to add filename to i even when i is "stringified". Silly question about the help system
by Jérôme Loisel 23 Mar '01

23 Mar '01

Hi! I recently downloaded and installed the latest CMF release to take it for a spin. It seemed fun enough, but I did not truly "get" it, so I uninstalled it eventually. The annoying thing is, the documentation still appears in the help menus. What puzzles me is that I really did delete the full CMF folder, so there should be nothing left. That leads me to wonder whether Zope could have copied the help files to Data.fs, where it does have write access... Which is something I never really wanted it to do. That being said, this is no major problem to me and I fully recognize that this is no major issue. But I would still really appreciate it if Zope just deleted cached copies of deleted documentation. It's not like I want my help menu to permanently grow every time I try out a new, documented product. Or am I missing something? How to pass values from python script back to calling dtml-method ???
by Anton A. Zotov 23 Mar '01

23 Mar '01

Greeting, people ! I may seem completely ignorant, but Zope namespaces are driving me wild for the last couple of days :-( I need to solve a pretty simple task: I have a dtml-method which calls a Python script. When that python script is through, it has a variable (say, returnValue="return value"). How can I access this variable in calling dtml method ? Please help !!!!!

Thanks to Peter B, I eventually traced the file down to a different disk...in the Windows/sytem32 directory. I've no idea why the file should get written there. Anyway, this *may* be why the problem arose... I edit my python files in the Extensions folder using the LocalFS product. I think when I update files I suspect something is not happening that should. Are the Extensions only loaded at startup, because I only got this working after a restart? Thanks all tom

Try this (untested): <dtml-with expr="this().aq_explicit" only> The aq_explicit attribute replaces the implicit acquisition wrapper with an explicit one, effectively disabling acquisition for most cases. -Randy > -----Original Message----- > From: Ron Bickers [mailto:rbickers@logicetc.com] > Sent: Friday, March 23, 2001 11:47 AM > To: Dieter Maurer > Cc: zope(a)zope.org > Subject: RE: [Zope] dtml-with this only broken? > > > Ok... Please continue to cc the Zope list... other folks may be able to jump in. Consider using CatalogAware objects. Search Zope.org for CatalogAware. <input type=hidden value='<dtml-var x>' name=x> and LOOP
by servel yannick 23 Mar '01

23 Mar '01

I would like to use 12 files and I would like to use a loop to create an output similar to: <input type=hidden value='D:\TEMP\DEFAULT.PR~' name='filename1'> <input type=hidden value='' name='filename2'> <input type=hidden value='D:\pagefile.sys' name='filename3'> ... <input type=hidden value='C:\pagefile.sys' name='filename12'> To reach this result, I would like to use something similar to the following code: def SaveMenu(self, REQUEST=None): s="" i = 1 while i <= 12: s = s + "<input type=hidden value='%s' name='filename%s'>" % ((REQUEST.filename + i), i) i = i + 1 return s Indeed the statement REQUEST.filename + i is illegal. Is there any alternative to provide a similar result? Thanks in advance Yannick
