LoginManager dlpierson example
by W. Robert Kellock 30 Jan '01

30 Jan '01

Hi, I'm new to Zope and I've been examining the LoginManager example given by dlpierson (http://www.zope.org/Members/dlpierson/sqlLogin) Although I am nowhere near understanding what it is doing, I'm very close to getting it to work - I think! It looks to me like I'm falling down in the PythonMethods (PythonScripts) in the Member ZClass. Are PythonScript arguments typeless? I keep getting an error Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: 'string' object has no attribute 'password' from the authenticate method which I'm passing self, password. Strangely following this error, I can hit the back button on my browser and reach the protected HTML page anyway! Here is the traceback. Your help would be appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- W.Robert Kellock Ph: +64 3 326 6115 Sales Manager Fax: +64 3 326 6115 Credit Systems Control Ltd Web: www.creditscore.co.nz "making decisions easy" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new stylesheet used in the management interface
by Dominique.Dutoit＠cec.eu.int 30 Jan '01

30 Jan '01

I'm wondering if there's a document describing the use of the elements from 'manage_page_style.css' for unifying the management interface. Maybe it will be a good thing to release two DTML methods/documents to simulate the 'manage_page_header' and 'manage_page_footer' for backward compatibility with previous builds of Zope while moving to the new layout.

Problem with Cut and Paste
by Jerome Alet 30 Jan '01

30 Jan '01

Hi, First I'm sorry if this message was already received in this list, but I'm sure I've not received it to confirm, so I send it again, sorry for the inconvenience. I'm trying to modify OFS/dtml/main.dtml and OFS/CopySupport.py in order to create a shortcut button to cut an object and paste it in the parent object in one click, because I think this may save lots of boring clicks, at least for me. When I call the following method from the management interface (OFS/dtml/main.dtml) then I receive this error: "The data in the clipboard could not be read, possibly due to cookie data being truncated by your web browser. Try copying fewer objects." But when I call if from a PythonScript it works fine. My method, bound to a MoveUp button of my own: --CUT--- def manage_moveupObjects(self, ids=None, REQUEST=None): """Moves the selected objects to the parent objets (e.g. Folder)""" if ids is None and REQUEST is not None: return eNoItemsSpecified elif ids is None: raise ValueError, 'ids must be specified' if type(ids) is type(''): ids=[ids] if hasattr(self, 'aq_parent') and hasattr(self.aq_parent, 'manage_pasteObjects') : cb_copy_data = self.manage_cutObjects(ids, REQUEST) return self.aq_parent.manage_pasteObjects(cb_copy_data, REQUEST) ---CUT--- If I call self.aq_parent.manage_pasteObjects with None as the first parameter then it works fine from the management interface but not from a PythonScript: I receive a "No clipboard data found" error. Please could someone explain me what the problem is ? (I want it to work both from the management interface and from Python) Thanks in advance. Jerome Alet

What am I missing? I failed to reproduce this in my Zope CVS. It is puzzling indeed! Does "SESSION['info']" has a key "num" or do you expect to access the "num" passed as parameter? In this case, it might have something to do with permissions, as Zope sometimes turns insufficient permissions into KeyError. However, I expect your "SESSION['info']" is a standard dictionary and then access should by unprotected. Dieter

problem with ZUBB / no topic set
by Oliver Frommel 30 Jan '01

30 Jan '01

Hello, after installing ZUBB (ZDiscussions 0.6. right?) everything works fine with the single exception that the topic of no message gets set. That means, after posting, all messages show "(no subject)". The message preview HTML source still shows the correct value in the hidden input form tag named "title". Could the problem be a clash between the "title" form entry and the title of another Zope object? I am using ZDiscussions-0.6 and Zope 2.3.0. thanks --Oliver
