Hi all, on behalf of Zope Corporation and the Zope community I am pleased to announce the release of Zope 2.8.5. You can download Zope 2.8.5 from http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.8.5/ Some new features of Zope 2.8: - ZODB 3.4 with MVCC (multi version concurrency control) support. MVCC solves nearly every problem with ZODB read-conflict errors which is very important for high-traffic Zope sites. - Extension Classes were rewritten as Python new-style classes making all features of Python new-style classes available in Zope objects. hi all, i have my ontology in mysql. i connect mysql with zope and plone. and i made search interface also in Plone. Now i want to search my documents and display results according to the ontology. Hi List, I downloaded zsyncer-0.7.0 and am having problems. Its not working for me and it no longer displays prompts for destination password and user name when clicking its <edit> tab. Anyone else seeing this? More importantly, as a fall-back is there a version (0.6.1?) others recommend? All best, David

zope-2.9 r40780 make install doesn't finish, files missing from bin

I'm having some trouble with the 'make install' stage of Zope-2.9 svn. Using python-2.4.2 on Gentoo linux. Zope-2.9.0b1 installed fine, but I needed the fix for get_transaction() ASAP. zopectl or runzope just won't start zope

Hi: I'm new to zope and yesterday installed zope 2.8.4 on a linux system running python 2.3.5 Having followed installation instructions I got to the point of 'zopectl start' and got the following error message while trying both 'runzope' and 'zopectl'. I've tried installing different versions of Zope and get the same error (error absent with Zope 3). At one point, Zope did start (I moved it to a different port) but when I tried installing Plone in the Products directory of the zope instance, the 'Plone Site' did not show up in the drop down menu on the right hand side of the ZMI. Which is why I decided to reinstall and have been getting errors since. I haven't messed around with the Python installation at all. In this latest install I ran 'make instance' intead of 'make install' just to see if I would get the same error as I did yesterday when I had an instance of Zope running and I did. Any help in trying to fix this would be highly appreciated. I've tried changing PYTHONPATH in the zopectl file but that just leads to more and more errors. hosting two site on one zope server

I'm trying to host two site on one zope server I have two fix IP and I have two network card installed. I changed my zope.conf to include two http server that listen on two different ports. But, I placed my site under different folder and I don't know how to redirect different IP to different folder sites by listening on the same port 80 (can change 8080 t0 80 on linux, don't know what server is already using this) can someone help me? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? using tal macros in PloneArticle query

Hi all, I am trying to use tal and metal inside of a PloneArticle instance and can not get it to work. Should this not be possible? I am aware that kupu needs to be switched to not strip customg tags on edit and that there are settings which enable or disble content types in the article instance. I did enable the text/python-source type in the PloneArticle settings, but this still seems to not work. Anyone knows what I might be doing wrong? Many Thanks!!
