Does RewriteEngine work on Apache for Windows 2.0.5 ? I'm getting the following...... It's not about the threads or processes being tied up and waiting, it's about the transaction breaking: because the internal call (the one from the second server back to the first) changes the object on the first server, and thus when the first server checks wether the object has changed after the transaction should close (during the last return), it finds that indeed it has, and before it could write to it, so it raises a conflict error invariably. How to make good architecture in Zope2?

Hi! This question is not about how to make a Zope2 product, but how to get most from separating concerns while making Web application in Zope2. Lets suppose that I've done OO Analysis and have a dozen of nice classes which model my problem domain. Lets also suppose that I did it on the basis of known use cases. Now I want to build Web application fulfilling those use cases but separate my classes from Zope framework (Ok, some of them could be taken from Zope framework, like user folder), so that I can see the problem domain abstractions in the clear, without a mess of miriads of Presentation injections. (I'd liked to put presentation-related things into other classes and ZPTs) Are there any good examples out there, or any good architectural solutions for that? Or is it even possible in Zope2 to go that far without doing to much adaptation? What I see in real world examples, is extensive use of mix-ins. Is it the only feasible way to at least textually separate Logic from Presentation? (What about delegation?) Is there any pattern which doesn't look strange in Zope2 while letting me do what I described above? Thank you in advance! Regards, Roman Suzi

Hi Jens, you were right, there was a problem with the way I configured the added attribute in the LDAP Schema tab.. a stupid problem actually. When you add an attribute that does not exist in LDAP and want to use that as a login name attribute, it obviously does not work and zope simply returns "unauthorized". When you add "samAccountName" for the login ID user in Windows Active directory (and LDAP), and you try to login with the wrong password (or non-existing username) zope returns "unauthorized". So far so good. But when you add "samAccountName" for the login ID user in Windows Active directory (and LDAP), and you try to login with a correct username/password combination, zope returns "TypeError len() of unsized object" And when you use the right case in "sAMAccountName" you can login without errors. So my login problem is solved. I was only confused because it "seemed" that the attribute was working when it was not... Thanks for your support. Hi I am new phyton and zope programmer. I have to make a product for zope and i must use a list of groups with a lot of data. I´m wondering if i must to use a list of persistent objects or if it´s better use a database like gadfly with tables or another one. I´m a little confuse. why will FastCGI not be supported in the Future.

Hi, I'm a little bit puzzled why there are growing Number of Mails telling that the support for FastCGI will disappear in the future. Why is this. I am running multiple sites that are hybrides of apache/php and zope. It's very easy to set up such a config with mod fastcgi and Apache. It works just fine and very stable, even on heavy load. The posibility to Easy integrate Zope in existing apache/php server was one of our main reasons to use Zope. I know there is a way to do just the same with mod_proxy, but mod_proxy does open new connection for every request while fastcgi uses the same connection for all requests. The is no problem on low load. But with growing load, this can become a Problem. error installing zope from source

Hi. the problem now is that when I do "make" there is this error message:" does not find file /usr/lib/python2.3/config/Makefile . And when I look in /usr/lib/python2.3/ , there is no directory "config". I have python2.3. my OS is debian sarge. ZSQL with different user

Hello, I'm developing a Zope application that uses a PostgreSQL connection and several ZSQL objects. People should log in using a Postgres user and ZSQL object should be executed by the user that's logged in. Multiple people can be logged at the same time. Unfortunately it is not possible because the same Postgres connection is used by all the ZSQL object. Is there a way to change the user executing a ZSQL query? An alternative would be to log into the event.log some information (like the username, that's stored in the session) and the query source. Can you point me to some information? Thanks
