Corrupted permissions?

Hi, I seem to have got my Zope installation so no-one can even view my site. I have changed the Anonymous user in acl_roles to have every permission, and they still get asked a password. Index_html has View and "Access Content Information". What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to restore default permission in case something is corrupted? Thanks in advance.

Error with Zope + netscape + javascript

I have a server running zope on redhat linux... everything is fine when viewing under IE4 and 5. However, when viewing under netscape 3.04 or 4.08, I start to get server errors (see below). The wierd thing is, it seems that when I first upload and install javascripts to my site, things work (if a little differently to ie, but I accept that), but after about half a day, the server error kicks in. Even when i could view the pages under ns, if I clicked on the reload button, instead of reloading the page, it would redirect to the .js file within the directory the browser was pointed at! This gives me the same error as I now get even without the redirect. Incidentally, (when ns was working) if I hit return when the carat was in the address bar (as in, alternative way of reloading the page), everything was fine. Zope and Python

Hello, I need to replace DTML code with Python code in a product. I have something like this in my Zope Class: form=HTMLFile("genform", globals()) The genform dtml is used with three parameters. I would like to replace this code with something like this: import genform # genform.py ... form = genform.run With genform.run being a function in the genform module accepting 3 parameters. This code actually does not work. What am I doing wrong ? What should I do ? Thank you in advance for your help. -- Mickaël

XMLWidgets question

I am trying to use XMLWidgets to render some simple structured documentation, and am running into problems extending it. The problem I have is with trying to add new elements that can be included in elements. For example, I have created a new element <table>, which works OK if inserted into a section, but produces no output (and no errors) if placed into a paragraph. The isNodeSupported() method was changed to: <dtml-return "getParentNode().getNodeName() == 'section'" || "getParentNode ().getNodeName() == 'p'"> so that it will be legal in both contexts. I guess the problem is that the render() method for is: <dtml-var text_content> which of course will not produce anything for contained elements. However changing it to: <dtml-var render_helper> will not work because it will never get to the point where it will extract the paragraph content to display (though it will now display contained elements). Am I going about this the wrong way, or am I just missing something obvious? Richard

I am assuming that was the problem, because when I changed the DB fields to the same size it worked. Your example will come in handy thank you... Just do this within the GeneralUserFolder.py line 432 is: response=request['RESPONSE'] response.unauthorized = guf_unauthorized simply add: response.setStatus('OK') this does the trick. multiple domains + multiple hosts

Yellow, As anyone implemented 1 Zope in a server with only 1 IP address serving multiple domains + multiple hosts within each domain, with diferent sites? I want to do this without apache. Hi Helmut. Sorry. I have just noticed your mail. Well, yes, I have found a solution (although it is more like a workaround). The problem was that the following python statement self.erzeuger = AUTHENTICATED_USER within the constructor of my python-base class SOMEHOW shot the thing and I was unable to get a hand on it anymore (even trying to get these things out manually (but that was another problem ;) So, I changed the line to: self.erzeuger = AUTHENTICATED_USER.getUserName() since all I needed was the name! That solved it. I got a similiar thing as I once tried to assign an empty list to an object-member in a xxx_add method by <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('me', [])"> the result was exactly the same: an object got created and changed its type to the type of the container class after a few (non-deterministic) accesses. Did this with zope 2.1.4/2.1.5/2.1.6 on linux/i386 and win32. Reproducable. hmmm... bogus. Perhaps a bug in the persistence mechamism?? I do not know. But I do avoid those assignments (although they are not forbidden, are they?) Interesting to notice: you can use those assignments within methods when you do not store anything.
