I modified it like so: <dtml-if "_.fmod(_['sequence-index'],10)==0"> </tr> <tr><td><dtml-var sequence-item></td> <dtml-else> <td><dtml-var sequence-item></td> </dtml-if> Now i get: Error Type: AttributeError Error value: fmod i'm lost. is this the right approach or is there another way? roché > > I want to create a list of image thumbnails in a table. Duplicate column name in ZSQL Method
by Martin Fahlgren 15 Feb '00

15 Feb '00

Hello! Is there any possibility to make a query like select * from table1, table2 without explicitly typing every column name. If table1 and table2 have columns with the same names Zope raises an exception with the message "Duplicate column names" Thanks a lot! Martin Fahlgren

Accessing Properties of a ZClass-Instance via the <a href...>-tag
by Nico Grubert 15 Feb '00

15 Feb '00

hello, I'm creating some Zclass-instance. Clicking on an Instance which is inside of a folder will show me the property-view so I can change the properties of the object for instance the value for "Name". This little view_html shows all the Zclass-instances which are in the folder. <dtml-in "PARENTS[0].objectValues(['CD'])" sort=id> <tr bgcolor="#FFBB88"> <td><a href="<____?_______>"><dtml-var id></a></td> <td><dtml-var Name></td> <td><FORM ACTION="alter_html"> <input type=submit value=" EDIT "> </FORM> </td> </tr> </dtml-in> What syntax I have do put into the <a href="_____?_____"> to bring me the property view of the instance I clicked? thank you nico

Adding ZClass Instances via DTML
by Nico Grubert 15 Feb '00

>This dtml-method calls another dtml-method "add_dtml" which looks like >> this: >> >> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('id','<dtml-var newID>')"> >> <dtml-with "manage_addProduct['BuchProduct']"> >> <dtml-call "BuchClass_add(_.None,_, NoRedir=1)"> >> </dtml-with> > >DTML tags don't work inside of other DTML tags. When you do <dtml-call >"REQUEST...etc">, the stuff in quotes is actually a python expression. Which >means, that if you want to use the newID variable, all you do is just put >newID in there, like: > ><dtml-call "REQUEST.set('id', newID)"> > >I think the rest of it looks good. > >Kevin Kevin, this makes no sense for me. Why should I add an instance by adding every time a new id and calling the method ? This really makes no sense for me ! I would like to use an input-type text and a submit button for adding an zclass-instances. Is this possible ? Nico

Namespace + syntax question
by RC Compaan 15 Feb '00

15 Feb '00

I want to create a list of image thumbnails in a table. On every tenth item i want to start a new row. I thought the "fmod" function is appropriate. I get a syntax error however. My DTML: <dtml-in "PARENTS[0].objectItems('Image')"> <dtml-if sequence-start> <table><tr> </dtml-if> <dtml-if "_.fmod(_.['sequence-index'],10)=0"> </tr> <tr><td><dtml-var sequence-item></td> <dtml-else> <td><dtml-var sequence-item></td> </dtml-if> <dtml-if sequence-end> </tr></table> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> Any help or other suggestions would be appreciated. roché

Evan if you by chance find yourself in Australia, I'll buy you a beer. Is this Zope voodoo or straight Python class witchcraft? In humble admiration, Darran.

If anybody can confirm > this through similar experiences, we can probably get the problem fixed in > the code. I'm pretty sure that this is the same problem that the PTK list discussed last week. It appears that, during Zope's startup, "one bad apple ... spoil[s] the whole bunch, girl" -- i.e., a Product which barfs (due to missing dependencies, in particular) seems to abort the whole product loading process. Most product's are hardened against exceptions thrown during their initialize() functions; this kind of problem could occur, however, during the module import. For instance:: # $INSTANCE_HOME/lib/Python/FooProduct.__init__.py import Foo # if this throws, nobody catches it? def initialize( context ): """ Initialize our product classes.""" try: # capture traceback to show on our management interface context.registerBaseClass( Foo.FooClass, 'FooBase' ) except: # throw all exceptions on stderr import sys, traceback, string type, val, tb = sys.exc_info() sys.stderr.write( string.join( traceback . format_exception( type, val, tb ) , '' ) ) del type, val, tb We probably need to harden the Zope product traversal process against exceptions triggered at "module scope". > > While this is an annoying problem, I am still BLOWN AWAY by how good Zope > is.
