If you want to get the right URL, you'll have to prepend <dtml-var SCRIPT_NAME> to the path call. getpath will definatly not include the machine name in what it returns, there is no way it can know this. Your browser is probably infering an incorrect URL of a relative path. -Michel

Catalog.getpath(data_record_id_) without Zope ????

When listing catalog-search-results <dtml-var "Catalog.getpath(data_record_id_)"> gives me the correct URL, but omits the "Zope" in the start of it... instead of returning : mydomain.com/Zope/myfolder/mydocument_html it gives me : mydomain.com/myfolder/mydocument_html - which really doesn't point to anything ... Anybody experienced anything similar , or preferably know how to fix it ?? Zope 2.0.1 does not come with the localization code, the next release (and the CVS, and Chris mentioned) will. You are doing everything correctly, you just need to be using the new Catalog. If you're daring, you can check out a CVS copy and replace 2.0.1's lib/python/Products/ZCatalog with the checkout. Note that you will also need to replace the contents of lib/python/SearchIndex. The new catalog will automatically sniff your LC_ALL env variable and call the posix function to set the locale. Now, whether or not this will do anything is yet to be tested. Perhaps you can help us with that. According to our analysis, it should work for you, but we are not in a position to put it to a real world test. -Michel

ZCatalog and searching for german Umlaute

Hi folks, I've got a nasty problem with ZCatalog, that I cannot locate (localize :-). I have DTML-Documents with the word "König" in a property (title) and in the body. If I enter "König" in a formfield named "suchwort" and search with Catalog.searchResults({'title':suchwort}) or Catalog.searchResults({'raw':suchwort}) the document, which is indexed and found using other words, is not found. Even if I search explicitly after "König" like in Catalog.searchResults({'title':'König'}) or Catalog.searchResults({'raw':'König'}) the document won't be found. This is Zope 2.0.1 with ZServer directly accessed (not via Apache) and LC_ALL=de is set (and exported ;-) on an UltraSPARC with SunOS 5.7. Anybody any idea in this specific case? I must admit, that this is a very serious problem for our site and makes it hard for me to convince my users of the excellence of Zope. Well, I am convinced, though. But tell them that ... Q: Iterating through an arbitrary number of SUBMIT form REQUEST object files/attributes?

I've mananed to solve every single problem regarding to saving images, replacing images, referencing image sizes, etc,. Thanks to all the kind people on the list fo comments. However, I'm still unsure how to handle the form data send via post method by the browser. Consider an arbitrary submit-form that contains different variable types (text, numbers, boolean) and various file types (images, video, etc.) via file-upload buttons. Is there a way to handle a REQUEST object (from the above arbitrary submit form) in such a manner that that it: 1) Automatically reads all variable names, types and values (e.g. <input type="text" name="name1:text"> with value "John Smith" is turned into a property name1 with value 'John Smith' for the object to be handled) 2) Automatically reads through all the included files (submitted through multipart/form-data), detects their type (if possible) and saves the inside the object in question as sub-objects. (e.g. parrot.jpg is understood to be a file of type Image and saved as an image object with the id "parrot.jpg" or just "parrot") Is this too much of an Herculean undertaking or is it something done easily? I'm most interested in iterating through all of the encoded files of a form submitted REQUEST object and saving each of them with a proper id and type (image, etc) inside a folder (object). This can be avoided by changing the following line in your Zope.cgi file: PCGI_PUBLISHER=/home/michel/dev/Portal/pcgi/pcgi_publisher.py to an empty dummy file. This way, pcgi-wrapper will not try to file up Zope The Old Way. Whether or not this was the original problem is unkown. I took what I've learned from my Equation Tile product and moved it into the Poll product this morning.
