Newbie MySQLDA help

After a frustrating afternoon of getting nowhere I turn to the list for help. I am trying to get Zope, MySQL and MySQLDA installed. I am a relative newbie to Linux and Zope, but I can follow instructions like a champion. First observation - Digital Creations seems to have depreciated support for MySQLDA. I did find the DA at the old site : http://www.zope.org:8080/Download/ZMySQLDA Unfortunately, the instructions at the above URL seem a little strange in that half way through it starts referring to ZSolidDA ? In any case,' make -f Makefile.pre.in boot' doesn't work. I get the same error reported by another user [see http://www.egroups.com/list/zope/md78304253.html] So then I tried another tack : installing the MySQLdb package from http://starship.python.net/crew/adustman/ which seems to include a patch to MySQLDA. So I unpack a fresh copy of Zope2.01, unpack MySQLDA 1.1.3. I don't install or make anything figuring I should apply all the patches before I install anything. I then try to run "python build.py" from the MySQLdb package. Unfortunately, the MySQLdb installation instructions are a little brief. In any case I get an error "/usr/lib/python1.5/config/MakeFile.pre.in: no such file or directory exists", which is no surprise because it doesn't exist. Do I have to create this directory ? Where should I unpack the MySQLdb package ? Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated. Accessing objects properties

Hi, I have the following structure .../Cases/ (a folder) show_image (a DTML document) Case1/ (a folder) figure1 (Image object) figure2 ... figure3 content (a DTML document) from "content" I want to include images with a function, like: <dtml-var "show_image(img_name = 'figure1')"> and I have implemented "show_image" as: <div align="center"> <table cellpading="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr><td><img src="<dtml-var img_name>" width="300"></td> <tr><td><p>****Title of image here.****</p></td> </table> </div> But in order to get the title I have tried several things: <div align="center"> <table cellpading="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr><td><img src="<dtml-var img_name>" width="300"></td> <tr><td><p><dtml-var "_.getitem(img_name, 1).title"></p></td> </table> </div> ---------------- <div align="center"> <table cellpading="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr><td><img src="<dtml-var img_name>" width="300"></td> <tr><td><p><dtml-with "_.getitem(img_name, 1)"><dtml-var title></dtml-with></p></td> </table> </div> ---------------- But I get a Error Type: KeyError, Error Value: figure1 And with <div align="center"> <table cellpading="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr><td><img src="<dtml-var img_name>" width="300"></td> <tr><td><p><dtml-var "_.getattr(getitem(img_name, 1), title)"></p></td> </table> </div> I get a "You are not authorized to access title." error when trying to access "content" Is this info in the DTML Guide? Testing document properties

Hi, I have several DTML Doc named "caso" each of them in a diferent directory. Two of these "caso" documents have a property called "idioma" with type string and value "en". The others do not have this property. In the parent directory I have another document in which I want to check this property *when* available. So I do: <dtml-if caso.idioma> <dtml-if "caso.idioma == 'en'"> <h2>What is your diagnosis?</h2> <dtml-else> <h2>¿Cual es su diagnóstico?</h2> </dtml-if> <dtml-else> <h2>¿Cual es su diagnóstico?</h2> <**** </dtml-if> I want to test if this property exists. If it exists and its value is "en" then print a text in English. Otherwise print it in Spanish. The above DTML code always returns the text marked with "<****". I've tried puttin the first if in double quotes like <dtml-if "caso.idioma"> but it fails when the document does not have this property. Thanx for any help. Regards, Rafa -- Linux. Hmmm. Please let me know how it works out. I've done some messing around with the NetUserChangePassword function to validate the user against a PDC. That works too. Whatever. Re: Dynamically Accessing Folders

Thanks to all who helped me with my question about how to dynamically iterate over subfolders in order to invoke a method in each of the subfolders. I have one more thing that I want to be able to do with this code. I currently have a structure which is something like this: Folder A iterate (DTMLMethod) Folder B myName (DTMLMethod) Folder C myName (DTMLMethod) At the present time, no matter where I invoke the "iterate" method, I get a list of the results of invoking "myName" for Folders B and C. What I want to be able to do is tailor the results depending on were the iterate method was invoked. For example, if I invoke the method from http://localhost/FolderA/FolderB/iterate the results might be: Folder B - I'm selected! Folder C but if I invoke it from Folder C the results might be: Folder B Folder C - Pick from below: Item1 Item2 What I would like to be able to do is invoke "myName" with a parameter which would indicate who is the invoker of "iterate". The pseudo-code for "myName" might be something like: <dtml-if sender = ??myself??> <dtml-var fullContents> <dtml-else> <dtml-var simpleContents> <dtml-endif> The "iterate" DTMLMethod (defined in FolderA) would be defined loosely as follows: <dtml-with FolderA> <dtml-in "objectValues(['Folder'])"> <dtml-var "myName(sender=???)"> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> What I'm trying to do is create a set of methods which reside up at the "FolderA" level and where the subfolders only have to implement the "fullContents" and "simpleContents" DTML Methods. Keep up the good work Zopistas! * Atlanta Linux Showcase was held this week and it included a talk by Digital Creations' Paul Everitt, and a Zope Birds of a Feather session. http://lwn.net/1999/features/ALS/ * There was lots of discussion about a Linux.com community ad for Zope. Chris McDonough got things rolling and it snowballed from there with many creative ideas.
