Expand all confera topics on page-entry
by Schmidt, Jens-Uwe 12 Oct '99

Hi all, it would be very helpful, if all confera topics could be expanded when entering the page. This was around once, but the tip "adding ?expand_all=1 to the URL" won't work. Any ideas? I display a lot of small documents inside my tree , thoses document containing images (dot,etc..) so it's a lot of modification to do. Accessing ZSQL results via classes
by Mike Mikkelsen 12 Oct '99

12 Oct '99

Hello all, I have been trying to assign the results of a ZSQL query to a class with no luck. I created a python class and defined it in the "Advanced" tab of the appropriate zSQL method, but I can't figure out how to access it. The manual says something about using an URL. Is there a way to access the class (and properties) directly from a dtml-var tag? Is this the only way to assign results to a class? Can it be done with a ZClass? Thanks. -- ========================================================================== Mike Mikkelsen mikk(a)microbsys.com Micro Business Systems http://www.microbsys.com Fresno Linux Users Group http://linux.fresno.ca.us Linux: The OS people choose without $200,000,000 of persuasion

Using ZODB outside of Zope
by Avus 12 Oct '99

12 Oct '99

Hi, he ZODB would be a possible choice for a desktop database. Could anyone point me to code examples (if there are any) to use ZODB and Catalog outside of Zope? Is there any effort underway to make C/C++ bindings (i.e. to allow C++ classes to be stored persistently in a transparent manner)? Cache Technologies compared with Zope?
by Bruce Elrick 12 Oct '99

Caught this link through LinuxPR.com http://www.e-DBMS.com/cache/weblink/index.html I imagine a number of people here could wade through the PR and compare. I don't get the feeling that it is as sophisticated as Zope... It sounds like you're basically trying to do a namespace lookup. <dtml-with "_[objA]"> should do what you want. Kevin

ANNOUNCEMENT: MySQLdb-0.1.1 released
by Andy Dustman 12 Oct '99

12 Oct '99

MySQLdb-0.1.1 is a bugfix release for MySQLdb, a thread-friendly interface to MySQL-3.22. Thanks to Stephen Gava and Mark Favas for pointing out a few problems. cursor.fetchmany() now works (one I never used) and some of the _mysql.conn methods probably would have dumped core if they were ever used (MySQLdb doesn't use them, but they are there for completeness), and didn't compile on some systems. Thilo Mezger pointed out the patched ZMySQLDA didn't return numbers on numeric columns; I had assumed that Zope did this conversion itself. Adding the minimal type converter dictionary from MySQLdb to the connect() call fixes this, and my understanding is that this means it is now really working 100%. As usual, it's available at http://starship.python.net/crew/adustman, and will soon be on www.zope.org as well. -- andy dustman | programmer/analyst | comstar.net, inc. telephone: 770.485.6025 / 706.549.7689 | icq: 32922760 | pgp: 0xc72f3f1d
