How to access NAMES of database fields? (ZSQL)
by Martin Dougiamas 06 Oct '99

06 Oct '99

I'm asking this question again, as I still haven't solved it. I need some help from those familiar with ZSQL. How can I print all the NAMES of the fields in a record that is returned by a ZSQL query method (not the CONTENTS of the fields). The following snippet prints out the contents of all the fields, but I need the names : <dtml-in getrecord> <dtml-in sequence-item > <P><dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-in--> </dtml-in> Cheers, Martin -- ### Martin Dougiamas ### ### http://dougiamas.com ### ### martin(a)dougiamas.com ###

RE: [Zope] What's the magic word?

It uses the let tag to create a temporary 'results' variable containing the result of the query. Then it uses _.len to figure out how many result records were returned. <dtml let results="GetResults()"> There are <dtml-var "_.len(results)"> results. <p> <dtml-in results> ... format result item here ... </dtml-in> </dtml-let> Brian Lloyd brian(a)digicool.com Software Engineer 540.371.6909 Digital Creations http://www.digicool.com

ZSQL method variables in a forms select statement - how?
by Sture Lygren 06 Oct '99

06 Oct '99

Hi! My apologies for asking an already answered question? I've made a form wich has a <select><option> field. The <option></option> part gets its data from a zsql method (first of two variables). My problem is - how can I have the other variable to be the one that gets assosiated with the 'name' field in <select>? Thanks in advance Sture Lygren

manage_upload an image object (WAS: Re: Change a ZClass's instance's image) instance's image)

> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('data',default.document_src(REQUEST,RESPONSE))"> > <dtml-call "manage_addDTMLDocument('default','',data)"> That sort of works. The only problem is, Image doesn't seem to have a document_src method. Anyone knows how to use the manage_upload method to "upload" an image that's already in the object database? Kam

change to MimeWriter to add "MIME-Version: 1.0"
by Pate, Clarence T 06 Oct '99

06 Oct '99

If anyone is interested in the "MIME-Version header", I have played with the mime stuff and read rfc1341 to understand better how this stuff works. I am enclosing a subset of MimeWriter.py which will allow the functions to put the "MIME-Version: 1.0" header in the correct place. I would like to warn everyone that I am not a python programmer, and there might be a better way to do this. The changed subset: def startbody(self, ctype, plist=[], prefix=1, version=0): for name, value in plist: ctype = ctype + ';\n %s=\"%s\"' % (name, value) self.addheader("Content-Type", ctype, prefix=prefix) if version: self.addheader("MIME-Version", "1.0", prefix=1) self.flushheaders() self._fp.write("\n") return self._fp def startmultipartbody(self, subtype, boundary=None, plist=[], prefix=1): self._boundary = boundary or mimetools.choose_boundary() return self.startbody("multipart/" + subtype, [("boundary", self._boundary)] + plist, prefix=prefix, version=1) This will only place the "MIME-Version: 1.0" header if you are using the tag. This sends a multipart/mixed message. Clarence T. Pate

Trying to add an instance of an object. Still no luck
by Dave Walker 06 Oct '99

06 Oct '99

I'm still trying to add an instance of my "QuoteClass" object. Very simple. quotetext and person are the two fields. I can add a quote through the management interface, and I can randomly pull quotes from the database and display them. No problem. Of course, the problem I'm having is adding the instances programatically, through DTML. I've separated the stuff out a bit, and have discovered that <dtml-with "manage_addProduct['QuoteProduct']"> is probably what is causing the error. I'm getting an error of: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: _u and the following traceback Traceback (innermost last): File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 214, in publish_module File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 179, in publish File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\Zope\__init__.py, line 201, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: ElementWithAttributes) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 165, in publish File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\ZPublisher\mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: addquote) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\ZPublisher\Publish.py, line 102, in call_object (Object: addquote) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\OFS\DTMLMethod.py, line 145, in __call__ (Object: addquote) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_String.py, line 502, in __call__ (Object: addquote) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_With.py, line 148, in render (Object: PARENTS[-1]) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_With.py, line 148, in render (Object: quotes) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_With.py, line 148, in render (Object: manage_addProduct['QuoteProduct']) File C:\Program Files\tarheel\lib\python\DocumentTemplate\DT_Util.py, line 321, in eval (Object: QuoteClass_add(_.None, _, NoRedir=1)) File <string>, line 0, in ? ANN: Squishdot 0.3.0 (new feature release)
by Squishdot 06 Oct '99

06 Oct '99

Hi all, I've released a new version of Squishdot (ver. 0.3.0) which incorporates the "re" patch -- it now works fine with Zope 2 out of the box. Aside from numerous bug fixes, it has two new major features: * a preview posting/comment button/screen - which will allow you to see what your posting will look like. * a RDF/RSS page (useful for content syndication) It also has some internal changes which make it easier to customize its validation of articles/comments. If you're installing Squishdot from scratch, I would suggest using the latest version. BUT if you are however already running a Squishdot site (with a lot of data and/or customizations which you want preserved), there are some slight complications if you plan to upgrade to the new version (due to the internal changes I've made) -- please check the updated documentation. In addition, I've also deprecated the old squishdot site at http://members.tripod.com/squishdot/index.html. I've started to use the http://squishdot.org as the new Squishdot home page. You can read the updated documentation at http://squishdot.org/Documentation You can download the latest version at http://squishdot.org/Download/Squishdot or at http://www.zope.org/Members/butchland/Squishdot Best regards, Butch ===== Butch Landingin Squishdot maintainer http://members.tripod.com/squishdot/index.html squishdot(a)yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? What's the magic word?
by Morten W. Petersen 06 Oct '99

06 Oct '99

I'm doing a search with an SQL query, which returns a bunch of hits. Now, what's the magic word in the _ namespace for finding how many hits are in that query (the in tag), for example, "Your query on blah had 4323 hits on the word "bleh"" ? Is there maybe a way to do this via SQL? -Thanks in advance
