Re: [Zope] Render DTML Document title inside another DTML Document in parent folder

Chas, Thanks. It works. Now I want to generalize it. I will create more folders inside FolderA and FolderB. Each newly created folder will contain at least one DTML Document that calls Doc1. Thus Doc1 has to determine which Doc from which folder dynamically. The goal is to use make Doc1 uses its own properties to render common results & uses caller's properties to render specific results. Any idea how to do that? Thanks. RE: [Zope] 2.01 will not run on NT4
by Michael Simcich 03 Oct '99

Hi Jim - I got it working now. I didn't have it running as a service, but from a shortcut on the desktop that pointed to the real start.bat. Thinking it was a typical shortcut generated command prompt window I was closing it after seeing it produce it's startup messages. This was apparently closing Zope... I've never seen a window need to stay open like this before so just followed my nose. Something should be added to the install notes about this. Is there a place I could suggest this? Thanks to everyone for helping out. Michael Simcich AccessTools -----Original Message----- From: Jim Sanford [mailto:jsanford@atinucleus.com] Sent: Thursday, September 30, 1999 10:55 AM To: Michael Simcich Subject: Re: [Zope] 2.01 will not run on NT4 Don't know if localhost works elsewhere, never tried it. We set this machine up strictly to be an SSL front end to Zope. The data we have to access for our project is in Visual FoxPro tables so we had to use a windows machine for the ODBC connectivity with ZODBCA. I rarely access zope on the machine from the machine. It is sitting in our server room upstairs across the parking lot with a 100mbit connection to the database server and the router attached to our T1. When in the office I access it across the network and at home (where I do most of my programming) I access it via a dialup directly to the router. We do not run Zope 2 as an NT service. We had problems (the exact nature of which I don't currently remember) running it as an NT service so we just run it as a regular program that sits down on the task bar. That is all this machine does - runs IIS 4.0 with SSL solely accessing Zope via zope.pcgi. The default.htm for IIS takes you right to the top index_html for Zope which immediately makes you log in. If you fail login you are redirected to our public website which is on another machine (which is contolled by the marketing department) Zope is installed in a directory under Program Files (not under Inetpub). The zope.pcgi file is installed in the IIS wwwroot\scripts directory. __________________________________________________________________ Jim Sanford ^ Database Engineer ^ ^ ^ Accelerated Technology, Inc. ^ ^ 720 Oak Circle Drive East ^ ^ ^ Mobile, AL 36609 ^ ^ ^ Voice: 334-661-5770 fax: 334-661-5788 ^ ^ E-Mail: jsanford(a)atinucleus.com Web: http://www.atinucleus.com Source Code, No Royalties, Any CPU...It just make sense ! __________________________________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: Michael Simcich <msimcich(a)accesstools.com> To: 'Jim Sanford' <jsanford(a)atinucleus.com> Date: Thursday, September 30, 1999 12:34 PM Subject: RE: [Zope] 2.01 will not run on NT4 Wow, this is really starting to spook me, I didn't think getting Zope to run was going to be such a big deal. Is the rest of the program this busted/cantankerous? I tried your suggestion but it came back with the same response - basically nothing is there. When you said that on your NT box localhost didn't work either do you mean that localhost doesn't work at all or only as a means to access Zope? On my rig localhost works fine, but adding the 8080: thing seems to mean nothing to it. However, a default install of Zope doesn't install itself to run behind a server, but to run behind ZServer. The output from start.bat indicates it is running fine. It seems you don't have any default content in your object database. Just add /manage to the URL, like so: http://localhost:8080/manage And you can start adding objects. The fact that no default content is provided is however a bug. If you want to have default content, see if the file Data.fs.in exists in the var subdir, and copy that to Data.fs (which is the objetc database file). -- Martijn Pieters, Web Developer | Antraciet http://www.antraciet.nl | Tel: +31-35-7502100 Fax: +31-35-7502111 | mailto:mj@antraciet.nl http://www.antraciet.nl/~mj | PGP: http://wwwkeys.nl.pgp.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xA8A32149 ------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://www.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope (Related lists - please, no cross posts or HTML encoding! Render DTML Document title inside another DTML Document in parent folder
by Ping Lau 02 Oct '99

02 Oct '99

Is there a way to reference a DTML Document's title in the folder 2-level deep from another DTML Document in the parent folder? The hierarchy looks like this: FolderA Doc1 FolderB FolderC Doc2 FolderA contains DTML Document Doc1 & FolderB. FolderB contains FolderC. FolderC contains DTML Document Doc2. Doc1 is called from Doc2 using <dtml-var Doc1> In Doc1, I want to display Doc2's title. I tried <dtml-var title>. But it rendered Doc1's title instead of Doc2's title. How can I render Doc2's title? Trapping error messages.
by Ethan Fremen 02 Oct '99

Some folks asked about this a bit ago, so here it is: first, check out how the zopester's do it: http://www.zope.org/standard_error_message/view_source so, there is a variable error_type, and it appears, from the Zope Quick reference (look for setStatus) to have the following string values: OK, Created, Accepted, NoContent, MovedPermanently, MovedTemporarily, NotModified, BadRequest, Unauthorized, Forbidden, NotFound, InternalError, NotImplemented, BadGateway, ServiceUnavailable these may not all be valid values of error_type (I doubt OK is.) anyway, the ZQR is at http://www.zope.org/Members/ZQR so, in standard_error_message, you can do a sequence of <dtml-if "error_type == errorhere"> <dtml-var thisError_response> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> <dtml-else> <dtml-if "error_type == nexterror"> <dtml-var otherError_response> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> <dtml-else> <p>Something is wrong, something is terribly wrong</p> </dtml-if> </dtml-if> -- ~mindlace

FW: [Zope] Authorization failure

sture: <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder, 'File'])" sort=meta_type skip_unauthorized> <dtml-var title_or_id> </dtml-tree> -----Original Message----- From: Sture Lygren To: zope(a)zope.org Sent: 10/2/99 2:51 PM Subject: [Zope] Authorization failure Hi! I'm stuck with a problem here and hope someone can help me out ... I try to make a folder & file tree view using the code: DTML-method - show_tree <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder, 'File'])" sort=meta_type> <dtml-var title_or_id> </dtml-tree> Accessing the show_tree method as manager displays all correctly, but when I try to access the method as another user I get 'authorization failed'. I find this strange since the user has aquired the permissions : 'access contents information' and 'view' to the methods parent folder, the same permission setting is set for the folders and files therein. I can trick it so that the user is proxyed as manager on the method, but thats not what I want - I will block access to all but the authenticated users private files and folders in the future. Please tell me whats I do wrong and how I can fix this. Thanks in advance Sture Lygren _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://www.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope (Related lists - please, no cross posts or HTML encoding! ben, it worked! except I had to do the following (I am working from the IMAPAdapter.py with the string "__version__='$Revision: 1.5 $'[11:-2]" at the top): comment out lines 202 - 203 e.g. replace: if 'NotMail' not in roles: return None with # if 'NotMail' not in roles: # return None then after line 204 (parent=request['PARENTS'][0]) add: if auth==None: return None then in lines 106, 107, 108, change: def addIMAPAdapter(self, title='', default_domain='', smtp_server='', smtp_port=25, imap_server='', imap_port=143, roles, REQUEST=None): to: def addIMAPAdapter(self, title='', default_domain='', smtp_server='', smtp_port=25, imap_server='', imap_port=143, roles=None, REQUEST=None): Then the sample code worked. After much time and effort I have managed to get this working. I'm not sure if it is a genuine bug or something I've missed along the way but if you edit IMAPAdapter.py in the validate function. (Line: 200) First comment out the following lines: if 'NotMail' not in roles: print 'Notmail not in roles' return None Then add: if auth == None: return None after: parent=request['PARENTS'][0] Mmm, hope this helps, this worked for me. Zope-Apache Virtualhosting problem

I'm trying to set up Apache and Zope with virtual hosts and I'm struggling a bit with the final hurdle. I've only tried to deliver Zope pages on the one virtual hosts. My entry in my apache virtual host looks like this: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteCond ^/Zope(*.) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] When I open my browser at http://www.mydomain.com/Zope Zope does prompt me for a username and password. But it does not except my username and password (the one displayed after you ran the zope install script). I even tried to change the password with python zpasswd.py script. I still get the following error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Unauthorized You are not authorized to access this resource.
