Any other ColdFusion coders out there?

Hi All, Just learned about Zope today; we're attempted to install it on a Linux test box here. Ours is mostly a ColdFusion shop right now, but the devshed intro article on Zope looked very promising. I'm curious if anyone has a comparison table of Z vs. CF... I'll be especially interested to know how it handles http file uploads, file management, mail management, <cfhttp>-like functions, and session management. I'd also like to stick with CFStudio as my main development environment... does regular ftp work with DTML documents? editing language property on root folder ?

Seems that we can't add a property named 'language' to the root folder - I guess zope uses that internally. It's OK to place it on any other folder. This is a bit of a shame b/c I would have like to just make language='cn' on the root folder and be done with it. Why not have the language property editable on the root folder just like the title is ? Would maybe help those of us doing multilingual sites. Or am I being dense again ? chas

Hi, I had originally been thinking that ZClasses would allow you to override ZClass-level methods, etc. with methods at the instance level. But, this is not the case... and you're also not able to edit the methods for each instance, as you have found. I have a solution to this, and I should probably write it up in a HOWTO because this has come up a couple of times. If you download KM|Net News, you can see my solution pretty easily. In the KMArticleStore ZClass, there are methods labelled "default_article_header" and "default_article_footer", etc. The KMArticleStore_add method will automatically take the contents of those methods and copy them to the new instance. I have also added a view called "Defaults" which allows the user to easily restore the defaults. One side note: make sure you map the Access Contents Information property on your "default" methods. I'll try to write a complete howto about this in my copious free time. Hopefully, the paragraph above will point you where you want to go... Thanks Martijn. I wonder where I can officially suggest that a note be added to the NT distribution telling folks not to close that console window if zope is not running as a service? Good. The error reported doesn't influence the correct functioning of ZSerever. It is just a message it has to compute the default hostname, because it isn't given anywhere else. rendering document in sub-folder

Hello all, I can't seem to figure out how to include a document (or method) in a subfolder in the top level index_html. When I use <dtml-var "folder.method"> it just shows me the code *in* the method (or doc). When the method (or doc) is in the same folder as the index_html, it renders the included html properly. Monitoring Zope!

Hello, I have a huge problem, my ISP is shutting down my zope process at regular intervals, this of course creates the problem of the service gets out of order until I restart zope. My question is: is there a way to monitor the zope process and if down automatically restart it ? I hope some one might be willing to help me out on this... Thanks a lot in advanced (BTW my Zope install runs on RH 6.0 Linux) Sam
