SSI & DTML working together

I have a project for which I use ZDocument template package (DTML parser) without Zope. Eventually I realized that I have to use SSI in my templates. When I ran a parser on my new template, it gave me a ParseError exception, saying "Unexpected tag". I do know that I can get all of the SSI functionality via DTML. Anyway, maybe it would be convenient to make an option, say, to leave the 'unexpected tags' as is...? I made a very quick and dirty hack to ZDocumentTemplate source which allows me to do this. However, it would be nice if a patch could be made by someone who knows his way in the Zope source code more than I am. Thanks. -- Sergei

Documentation Announcement

Hello Zope Community, Digital Creations is dedicated to provide up to date documentation. I have accepted the technical writer position to provide a focal point for all documents. We are commited to producing quality document and have established a plan to deliver. As part of our new documentation process, we will not release a new version until it is reasonably documented. The technical writer will publish the documents on the http://www.zope.org site. Along with new releases, bundled text files (changes.txt, install.txt & readme.txt) will provide necessary information about the individual projects. All DC documents will be available as Guides and HowTo's. The Guides and HowTo's will be available on the new Zope site and it promises to be exciting. In the works is the Zope Developer's Guide (ZDG) and the Zope Administration Guide (ZAG). The developer's guide will contain information targeted towards the developers. The administration guide will provide tidbits helpful for the content managers. Please feel free to submit suggestions for documentation efforts, they should be posted to Collector. Hi, This week saw the release of ZCatalog, the first component of the Zope Portal Toolkit. Finally searching Zope objects is becoming easier. Behind the scenes work continues on Zope 2.0. Jim Fulton estimated that Zope 2 will enter beta in 3 weeks. In addition, Eric Raymond's mention of Zope this week (at Microsoft and in an essay) is further proof that Zope is becoming an influential open source project. * Jonathan Corbet pointed out that Eric Raymond mentioned Zope in his latest essay, "The Magic Cauldron". He discusses Zope in the context of how to make a living with open source. Friends of Zope, I am a newbie who wants to know how to search for for data on a MySQL database using the SQL LIKE command. I used the tutorial and found it helpful but It show how to search for exact matches only. I suppose this is easily done, Any ideas?

On another catalog Note, for those of you who are keeping up with the development of the Catalog in CVS, you must make sure that you update your Zope as well. For example, to keep the Catalog's memory consumption resonable, it uses the shiny new sub-transactions. unable to reach root Zope security page

hi all, I recently installed Zope 1.10.3 for win32 over my existing Zope (which I think was an earlier 1.10). Everything has seemed to be fine but when I go to the root folder and click on the security tab, I get the traceback at the end of this message. I tried uninstalling zope (though not the win32 registry keys) and then re-installing (thinking the object database might be corrupt) but still have the same behavior. Read-only mode

Hi, After using Zope for several months now, and working on it today, I suddenly started to get this message: ! Attempt to perform a write operation while the database is in read-only mode. I have never seen this, and am not sure what exactly caused this problem. The only strange things I have noticed lately is that the ZHTTPServer has been shutting itself off while it is unattended. Has anyone ever had this problem? How does one put the database in write mode?
