What it sounds like you want to do is call a ZSQL method and format the data in your own way. This does not require you writing 'handlers', this can be done in straight DTML. <ul>  <li> gets paid </li>  </ul> ZSQL methods return sequences of results. The results are rows in the database which match your SQL query. Given this, you can impliment an HTML form which collects data, whose action="" is to call the DTML method which contains the code above, whose job is to call the ZSQL method and format the results of the query into an HTML list. Thanks -- your info helps. It isn't precisely what I was looking for, though. What I want to know is how to replace the default data input page for a Z SQL Method that takes arguments with one of my own. In looking at the source of the automatically created search interface, I noticed that the path info "manage_test" is added to the url of the target query, and that the value is passed as a cgi variable. So I've been able to do what I want to do. Gutenmorgen Thies, No, no answer yet. I've got a feeling that one would have to write a DTML method which is sort of Python-ish but not exactly the same. I've been playing this weekend and had no joy. As and when I get it working, I'll write something up on zdp.zope.org and everybody will know :-) Maybe somebody on the list can toss us a clue and we can work this out... problem starting Zope 2a2 on Redhat 6

Hi, Just installed Zope 2 (a2) and am getting the following error on trying to start up ZServer: Unhandled exception in thread: Traceback (innermost last): File "/usr/local/src/Zope-2.0.0a2-src/ZServer/PubCore/ZServerPublisher.py", line 97, in __init__ response._finish() File "/usr/local/src/Zope-2.0.0a2-src/ZServer/HTTPResponse.py", line 214, in _finish self.stdout.close() File "/usr/local/src/Zope-2.0.0a2-src/ZServer/HTTPResponse.py", line 249, in close Wakeup() File "/usr/local/src/Zope-2.0.0a2-src/ZServer/medusa/select_trigger.py", line 80, in pull_trigger self.trigger.sendto (msg, self.addr) socket.error: (13, 'Permission denied') The server does actually start, but the response time is _very_ slow. It looks like it's trying to do something and then timing out for each item on a page. I'm using the quick start instrauctions (i.e. ZServer). I'm using Redhat 6, 2.2.9(ac6), Python 1.5.2. I'm getting the error message while simply trying to load the default management screen. I'm a complete Zope/Python newbie, so please excuse me if I've overlooked something obvious. I didn't have this problem with the first alpha. Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks, Mark

Still having problems with manage_delObjects

Hi all, I know i have posted a few mails about this, and have had some very good replies, but i am still having problems deleting folders. Here is the breakdown of what i am trying to do: I am using the tree command to show a directory structure that is dynamically built by the user adding folders and documents. The user has the choice to add folders and documents and also delete them. Within the delete function that i am using, what i am attempting to do is send through the id of the folder i wish to delete and then, using a parent[+1] to jump back a directory, delete that folder. The code i am using is as follows:      Has been deleted..    An ideas on why this is not working. Maybe, it is because the delete function is within the folder itself, i am not sure. I can use the manage_delObjects fine as a link but not as a call. Thanks in advance for any assistance, P.

Its the latest apache whatever that is. Can some who has this working send me their config file as I've tried every which option from past postings and from the FAQ and still I havn't got it working.
