If I understand your problem correctly, you'd like to pass form variables to the SQL Method? If so, here's one way of doing it:  This will essentially make REQUEST part of the namespace accessible to Test_sql. Note that this would lead to problems if your SQL Method refers to variables that should not be overrideable by REQUEST, such as security-related "where" conditions. To avoid such cases, pass all pertinent variables explicitly, like so:  This prevents malicious users from requesting URLs like http://www.foo.com/ViewEmployees?name=myname&salary=40000 (assuming you want to block this, of course). I have a Z SQL Method that takes an argument. It was constructed with the "Add" --> "Z SQL Method" form. The method works fine when the argument is provided by the automatically built search interface when testing it. Now, how do I have the argument value supplied by a DTML page that passes the value directly as a REQUEST.form object? It seems that this should be a very simply problem, yet I have search all available documents for an answer without success. Thanks to anyone who can help Rafael C. external method: imports delimited data

I wrote a real simple External Method for importing delimited flat file data into Zope as a heirarchy of folders (rows) and properties (columns). Cookie differences between IE and Netscape

I'm still having problems with using cookies, and there seems to be differences in the way NS 4.5 and IE 5 respond to the same code. I am trying to create a session id which I track using cookies. I am using the following code in the header of each page       and at the footer of each page, I have the following: sessionID=    Session ID not set  With NS4.5, when I first log on, I get the message that the Session ID is not set. I refresh the page, and then it appears. Thereafter, each page correctly shows the session ID. With IE5.0, when I access the home page, I get the same message that the Session ID is not set. It appears when I reload the page. However, other pages may not show the footer, or displays a different session ID ( from prior log ons as though it is caching the cookie value from before ). I have added <META HTTP-EQUIV="expires" CONTENT="0"> to the header without any change. ------- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz

Here is the solution for my some minutes before posted question: the only thing which was wrong was the quote-char, if I use "'" right-qote instead of "´" (on my keyboard it looks like a vertical quote) it works. Hi, I try to accomplish a very simple thing: the select statement shall finally look like this: select * from data where name LIKE 'Ab%' As input in form the user should only give "Ab" and the "%" should be added by default. I tried: select * from data where name LIKE  but that gives a name + ´%´ ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax Any help is welcome Joachim Schmitz

Authentication return weird string

Hello, I'm having problems with the AUTHENTICATED_USER variable. Normally, when the administrator authenticates itself, I should have the 'Manager' role returned by the AUTHENTICATED_USER.getRoles() method, right ? When I logon, and then access a web page with the following snippet:  You have the following roles:  <LI>   You have no roles defined.  I get 'manage' as a role, and not 'Manager' !? When browsing without authenticating, I get 'Anonymous', which is right. I'm using Zope 2.0a2, under Linux with Apache and PCGI to send requests to ZServer. For the authorizations, I'm passing them in httpd.conf with: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/(.*) /usr/local/Zope/Zope.cgi/$1 [last,e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1 Is this a bug from Zope, from the PCGI wrapper, from Apache, from me, or is it normal and if so, what did I miss ? [ANN: Zope source and binaries for Windows v3]

Hi all, I've posted a new release of the Zope source (and binary) patches. Located at http://student.uq.edu.au/~s341625/ temporarily until I move to a machine with a faster network connection. This file includes: * Binaries for Zope under windows * Makefiles for Visual C 5.0+ * Scripts to generate the above You need the Python 1.5.2 and Zope a2 sources to use the binaries. What's new? * Patches & fixes so it works with SquishDot * Streamlined install * Binary patches so the DC staff can get back to work instead of answering questions about windows binaries ;) * Modified README.txt slightly NOTE: This file is completely unsupported but does work;) I suggest people using old versions upgrade as old versions may have other, undiscovered bugs. Updating DAs for Zope 2.0

Has ZPyGreSQLDA been updated for Zope 2.0? If not, how hard is it to update an existing DA? Assume I'm willing to cheat and use a global lock if necessary. ;-) If it's too much work to update ZPyGreSQLDA, when will the MySQL DA be ready? Cheers, Eric
