problems uploading files with internet explorer

hello, i have problems uploading files with internet explorer, although it works perfectly fine with netscape. here is the code: def update(self, image=None, REQUEST=None): if image1 == None: items['image'] = '' else: headers = hasattr(image, "headers") and image1.headers or None items['image'] = (headers is None) and image or image.read() when a file is uploaded items['image'] contains it's name, instead of it's contents. i hope someone can help me solve this problem. regards, pawel PS: the whole thing does not work when stripping of the part with "headers"

Augmenting aquired DTML-Method's in subfolders

Hi all. I've found a question like this in the Archives but no answer :-( The Problem: At the root-level I definde standard_html_header (and some other's). In a subfolder I now would like to extend the definition of standard_html_header, that is, I would like to write something like  (some DTML-Code) Now, how do I write ''? At the moment I use  But I don't like this construct. It work's as long as the acquired Version is the one in the root document, but what, if I have already augmented standard_html_header in some other PARENT? Hmm... I would like some construct opposite to 'with', like 'temporarily pop the topmost n Namespaces' or something like this. This would be handy in other situations to. Any possibility? Other construct's I'd like are things like 'Pop me to the place, where <foo> was acquired from', or 'give me the PARENT, where <foo> was acquired from'. How do I answer questions like this effectively. I'm pretty new to Zope, so maybe there's a better Zope-isch solution to my problem, but ... Stefan.

Is it possible to use Zope Version 1.10.3b1 with Zserver? If yes, should I use the last ZPublisher coming with ZServer? FR

'Cannot Locate' errors from Bobo using pcgi...

Hi, I've recently shifted to the pcgi variant of Zope and it's working fine...usually. However, if I mis-type a URL or the system can't find a resource, I get this message (in the example I looked for http://server.net/wip/squishdo ) Bobo has encountered a problem publishing your object. Cannot locate object at: http://server.net/wip/squishdo Traceback (innermost last): File lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 877, in publish_module File lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 420, in publish (Info: /wip/squishdo) File lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 270, in debugError NotFound: (see above) There's nothing at http://www.zope.org/Collector about this. Am I doing something daft? It's not quite as friendly as the 9673 'cannot locate' message :) Details: You are running Zope version: Zope 1.10.2 (binary release, python 1.5.1, solaris-2.5.1-sparc), on Python 1.5.1 (#1, Feb 16 1999, 18:37:21) [GCC 2.7.2] on sunos5.6 I'm using the standard Rewrite rules as well. cheers tone.

Server crashes on Cobalt RaQ

Greetings, Here's a problem for you experts. I have installed Zope 1.10.2 on a Cobalt RaQ (Python 1.5.2). Everything seems to run fine until I get a very persistent error that shuts down the server. Win32 port of Zope 2.00a1

Hi, I've been playing with Zope2.00a1 on both Linux and Win32. I have noticed that it is considerably harder to get it working on Win95/NT. To assist those ppl who want to try it out on Windows I have created an MS VC6.0 workspace + project file for it. By compiling under "Win32 Release" mode MS C will create a zope.exe with all the Zope extensions built-in to it. To compile this you will need the Python-1.5.2 source to generate the python15.lib and python15.dll. As I don't have externally accessable web space if you want a copy please email me @ s341625 at student dot uq dot edu dot au. I am planning to create a python script to automatically convert from unix Zope extensions and another to install it under windows. I'd be happy to create win32 binaries for the Zope project. Cheers, Anthony Pfrunder PS Please excuse any cludgyness in my implementation of the project files as it is my first attempt at extension creation on Win32 :) BTW what is the difference between cPersistence in BoboPOS and the one in Zodb apart from the fact that only the BoboPOS one can be imported? They need to be patched to return cPersistence on load error instead of cDocumentTemplate (plus a few others that I've forgotten this freezing arvo;)

Seems part of the problem may come from your rewrite rules, you have RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/cgi-bin/Zope/(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope/$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] but surely this should be: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/Zope/(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope/$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] Since the mapping goes from a url of http://your-server/Zope/manage to http://your-server/cgi-bin/Zope/Zope.cgi Seems like you've been trying to remap something to itself? You might also want to try a later version of Zope as 1.09 is pretty outdated. Another note about using Zope with Apache, different versions of Apache might need different RewriteRule's, since your using 1.3.6 you might try: RewriteRule ^/Zope(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] This seems to work better with 1.3.6. You also need to turn ExecCGI in the Directory statement for the dir with Zope.cgi in (as you have done), later versions of Apache don't do this even for it's own cgi-bin dir by default. Anyway try my 'fixed' rewriterule and tell me if you have any problems as I'm in the process of rewriting the WEBSERVER.txt file and would appreciate any reports of trouble with the above rule.
