Yep. Once upon a time I wrote this. It might not be the best or most efficient way to do it, but darn, it works (it would have been the best way if #in supported reverse iteration, because then we could skip the temporary "dirs" variable). The use of absolute_url() might not be to your taste -- if you use recursive acquisition, the navigation bar will link to the true location of the object, not to the acquired path. You might be confusing "name" with "id" or "title". You're right, the root object does not have a name, but that should stop you from including it in iterations, or the tree tag. To tell the #tree tag to start at the top, do:    Note that, for obvious reasons, the top level will not be included in the tree. If I have a document http:/mysite/index_html then if that document calls #tree I think PARENTS[0] would be the name of the top level folder. Changing properties on objects

I feel really stupid asking this, but I have no choice. I have some instances of ZClasses where I'm attempting to easily post changes through a form. The form goes to a method which I've written like so:    (The reason for the namespace(...) bit is to avoid actually including REQUEST, as this will have manage_changeProperties() emit an "Your changes have been saved" thing.) I could have pointed the form to manage_editProperties (ie., <form action="manage_editProperties">), but this would also have given me the "Your changes..." thing. The above works, except it explicitly addresses the "MyObjectInfo" property sheet, and I'd like to have posting mechanism that can fill in the properties of any property sheet. Is that possible? Getting at base ZClass methods

I have an instance of ZClass Y, which has a base ZClass X. Now, X defines some DTML Method foo_html, but Y is a specialized variant for which I don't want to _replace_ foo_html, but augment it with extra information. Is there a way to get at a base ZClass' methods in the context of an instance? Code that illustrates what I'd like to achieve: X.foo_html:  Y.foo_html:   Here, the hypothetical getinherited() would find the method object in an ancestor class. Domain Name HOW TO

A slightly off ZOPE topic and BASIC but anyway: Basic URL def: protocol://subdomain.second-level-domain. top-level-domain:port/directory/filename So you get and register a second-level -domain name such as "mysite" with a top-level-domain such as "org". Good! Now say you want to set up multiple subdomains, for example: - tarzan.mysite.org - jane.mysite.org Can these subdomains be in totally different locations hosted by different hosts? Say I have a primary site - mysite.org hosted by HOST1 Can I use HOST2 in another location to host: - tarzan.mysite.org and - jane.mysite.org ? Does HOST1 have to do something to re-route to subdomain HOST2? What about e-mail? Can I get email at HOST1 in the form - bob(a)mysite.org and also different email at HOST2 - bob(a)tarzan.mysite.org IF this is possible, it would save unnecessary domain registration and make it easy to set up additional subsites. *TIA Zopesters -Bob OConnor bob(a)rocnet.com
