Database hosed!?

Hello, after restarting one of my Zope servers, it fails and I get the following: ... raise DatabaseError, ( DatabaseError: The database contains records, starting at position 112192, that have time stamps 629676609.614 seconds in the future. This could lead to database corruption. Please double check your system clock! Now just how hte heck do I fix this one? (outside of modifying the code to ignore the date and hope I can fix it once it is up and running?) New versions of a product

What is the best strategy to use when upgrading to a new version of a Zope Product that is already in production and has significant amounts of data in it? The issues are : 1. Modified hierarchy of objects 2. New classes/objects - not a problem as they don't exist in the earlier version. 3. Deleted classes/objects (i.e. no longer required) 4. Renamed classes/objects 5. New methods/attributes - not a problem as they don't exist in the earlier version. 6. Deleted methods/attributes (i.e. no longer required) 7. Renamed methods/attributes Robert Leftwich

I want to stream data through an external method.

What I have is several large files for downloading that I don't want to put inside BoboPOS as importing them seems to take forever. It is also more convienient if they exist outside the OODB. So what I want to do is for the user to dl the file through Zope. I have the following external method that works def serveFile(self, file, RESPONSE): RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-type', 'application/x-msdownload') dl_name = "C:/Provision/downloads/"+file dl_file = open(dl_name,'rb') retval = dl_file.read() dl_file.close() return retval However I think this is quite inefficient and will probably not work when large number of users attempt to download the same file at the same time. Anyone have a better solution?

Authentication with ie5 and zope.

Has anyone found a solution to basic authentication with ie5 and iis4.0. This is HUGE problem for me as my site has to go live in less than a week and it relies on have users authenticate themselves through the UserDB package. If they can't use ie5.0 to do this, then I have a big problem.

I tried using the isapi filter and it only sort of works. Any links of the first page use the original address not the one that was filtered. What I would like is for it to be completely transparent ie all links point to the virtual directory not the exe file. I assume this doesn't work because of the BASE tag that zope puts in the header. Hi, Yep, me again, that pesky person with it's dumb questions. Sorry, about these questions, but I want to know everything and because nobody around me knows something of this stuff, I've to ask you... hope you don't mind too much. If you do, please say! Ok, reading the docs and getting your explenations I see that the choice of database (relational or object oriented) depends on the sort of data to store. Well, I don't get this fully... Suppose we've this data to store : Examination table : Examination, Rooms, FieldX, FieldY, FieldZ Rooms Table: Room, Equipements, FieldX, Subexams SubExams Table: .. .. .. This can be be put in a relational table : Examinations : Exa1, Room1, a, b, c Exa1, Room2, c, d, e Exa2, Room1, d, d, d ... But also can be put in a object-oriented way : Exa1 Room1 a b c Room2 c d e Exa2 Room1 d d d .... So what is the best choice???? Tom.
