You could use an access rule to redirect non-Manager users to a work-in-progress page; you could set a boolean property on the root folder, check its value before redirecting. In this way, you can turn redirection on and off at will. using database connection inside of python scripts or how to do a d-hoc queries

I have been searching for this answer and not finding it. Inside a python script I want to create insert queries based on the fields returned from a form. I tried creating a database connection object like : dbcon = context.Psycopg_database_connection() Then executing a query like: RS = dbcon.query('select * from customer').dictionaries() this does not work. Can any one point me in the right direction? Thanks Gene

Two ip adresses in a row in Z2.log

In some very rare cases, I get strange entries in Z2.log : the first field is made of two IP adresses (comma-separated) instead of the usual alone IP address. It seems the problematic entries comes from someone accessing the site via a GPRS mobile phone. I digged quite hard in medusa's code, but did not find where this could happen. Has anyone some insight about it ? -- Damien

FTP redirect to Zope instances

Hello, http redirect with apache to Zope instances Ok, no problem. But how can I fix this with a ftp connection. How to redirect port 21 to other zope instances on different ports ? Can annybody send me a possible solution and a configuration example ? Thanks, Martin Koekenberg

Knowing the Zope database is configured read-only

Hello, A CMF/CPS site I work on needs to switch to read-only-database mode sometimes, to be only viewed but not edited. The problem is when being in this mode, I would like to hide some actions or links pointing to methods adding or editing content. Is there a simple way to know from code (zpt, script, Condition of actions) that the main database has been set read-only ? Thanks in advance for hints, -- Damien
