ssl certificate based authentication

I would like to have the users of my site authenticated via ssl certificates. Authentication works well with apache2, and I would like to have my zope working behind the proxy module of apache. I would not find it neccessary to leave the authentication to be done by apache, but I expect it to be simplier. I've found a product (SSL Certificate Authenticator Product), that uses apache's authentication, but it is only able to pass userinformation via pcgi connection to zope. I could not find any other zope product for this problem, however, this way is mentioned in the zope Wikis, as a common authentication method. (http://zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Projects/ComponentArchitecture/StandardAuthen…) Is there a common (or uncommon) solution for this case? The second level of my question is, how to do all this if I need the advantages of the Groups User Folder? thanks, ger

ChartDirector and Zope

Has anyone gotten the (excellent) ChartDirector charting library to work with zope? Here's what I have tried: 1. Created an ExternalMethod named barchart.py, in the Extensions folder: #!/usr/bin/python2.3 def drawBarChart(): from pychartdir import * #The data for the bar chart data = [85, 156, 179.5, 211, 123] #The labels for the bar chart labels = ["Mon", "Tue", "Wed", "Thu", "Fri"] #Create a XYChart object of size 250 x 250 pixels c = XYChart(250, 250) #Set the plotarea at (30, 20) and of size 200 x 200 pixels c.setPlotArea(30, 20, 200, 200) #Add a bar chart layer using the given data c.addBarLayer(data) #Set the x axis labels using the given labels c.xAxis().setLabels(labels) #output the chart print "Content-type: image/png\n" binaryPrint(c.makeChart2(PNG)) 2. Add an external method in the ZMI id: barchart title: black module name: barchart function name: drawBarChart 3. Michael, I'll take a look at the Transience product. We have tried using FileStorage but to the same effect unfortunately. ZEO Strange Session KeyError When Load Balanced

Hello, I hope this is the correct place to post this question as I have not been able to resolve the problem via archives or Google. We have a setup with one ZEO server and two ZEO clients. The goal is to put a load balancer in front of the two clients and have them both operate off the same session data so that it appears as a single server to the end user. We setup the clients according to: http://longsleep.org/howto/sharesessionwithzeo However, when we run the setup whenever ZEO client 1 is hit for a page a KeyError is generated. I assume this is because ZEO client 2 set up the session and the data is not being shared. I upgraded us to Zope 2.7.4 last night in an attempt to fix the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. I should add that the script works in a CGI environment, i.e Zope behind Apache, with the cgi-bin exposed. Could the problem be something to do with the external method attempting to write a png on the fly? dtml and 'none' behaviour

I have a zsql method which returns some null values. These are then displayed in a table but the null values become 'None'. Is there any way to get round this behaviour and have empty cells in the displayed results? I can do it with several dtml-if and dtml-unless calls but wondered if there was a more subtle approach. regards garry
