Acquisition 101 Question

Let's say I have three dtml methods: /Common/Top /Common/StyleSheet /Hello/index_html >From the index_html file inside the Hello folder, I want to call the Top file so I do: <dtml-var "Common.Top()"> It is working well if the Top file does not include another document. If Top has something like <dtml-var StyleSheet>, it does not find the StyleSheet (except if i call it directly in the Common folder). Is it possible to do this? Thanks Remy

Can some one help me with this error? Error Value: You are not allowed to access 'SequenceMatcher' in this context Does this say that I cannot use difflib in python script? here is the snippet of code: # find the record that matches the best s = difflib.SequenceMatcher(None, name_first, R['name_first']) v1 = round(s.ratio(), 3) I am trying to determine if a record in the database is close to the data submitted by the user. An example is the address 914 Lois lane and 914 Lois LN With SequenceMatcher this returns a 97% probability that these two are the same. Thanks Gene

Zope and threads.

Hi, I need to have some processing done in one thread, that will set some attributes of a (non persistent) object. This processing is completely independant from Zope objects. Zope objects (persistent or non-persistent) will only need to "read" data from this object. What would be the best way to do this (specially how to initialize my thread ?) zope rewrite problems.

can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong? i'm trying to use zope behind apache but i'm having some odd troubles. my site works with the current rewrite rule for the most part but any query strings thrown to the site result in weird errors. for example searches do not work, language switching, zphotos... i have a standard virtualhostmonster and my rewrite rules in apache look something like this: RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.thoracicavity.com:8085/VirtualHostBase/http/ www.thoracicavity.com:80/wombie/VirtualHostRoot/$1 [P,L] the site is of course... www.thoracicavity.com

using a ZODB standalone app with Zope

Hello All, I'm trying to migrate a ZODB standalone application for use in Zope. I have a module that instantiates a ZODB storage upon import and then has module functions that return the root for this database. --- storage = FileStorage.FileStorage(Config.DB_FILENAME) db = DB(storage) def get_root(): conn = db.open() return conn.root() def commit(): get_transaction().commit() --- The current setup does not work in Zope, I get timeout errors and I'm guessing that the two databases interfere somehow. What I plan to do is to make use of the database created by Zope instead. In a python script how would I go about fetching the root of the database that is used by Zope. thanks, Istvan.

Why I must set security-property "Access contents information" to get Data from Database?

Hi, I have protect my folder by using acl_users. But now I must allow access by anonymous to one DTML-Document. This document uses <dtml-in> to get data from my MySQL-Database. To allow acces I have to set the following security properties: 1. DTML-Document: View 2. Z-SQL-Method: Use Database Methods 3. Parent Folder: Access contents information Is that right? 1 is for viewing HTML. 2 and 3 for access Database. I'm not realy sure, why I must set 3? Can somebody explain it? Thanks, Patrick

Indeed, but I'm looking to service the situation where there's already a table with columns x,y, and z that I'd like to become a folder of content objects with x,y,z. Corrupted data.fs

Hi all. We're experiencing nightly corruption of a Data.fs in an intranet application. We've removed all the packing/backup stuff, we've moved from zope 2.6.4 to zope 2.7.4, but we still have data corruption in the morning.
