Operator overriding not working with Zope class.

Product security and OFS.CopySupport

Hi, I've encountered problems when adding security declarations to a Zope folderish object product on Zope 2.7.2/Python 2.3.4/RH Linux 9.0. My folderish object 'CustomFolder' (see http://files.englesh.org/CustomFolder.tgz for source) has permissions on its methods. For example, I'm declaring: security.declarePublic('index_html') index_html = PageTemplateFile( os.path.join('zpt', 'default_index_html'), globals()) I then initialize the permissions for my object calling: InitializeClass(CustomFolder) When I instantiate a 'CustomFolder', I can add new sub objects. I am, however, unable to paste or rename objects within the 'CustomFolder' instance. I've been able to trace the error to the call to _verifyObjectPaste (line 352) in OFS.CopySupport. It appears that _verifyObjectPaste fails on the call to self.restrictedTraverse(method_name). The comments following the call seem to indicate that an Unauthorized exception is thrown if the factory method by name cannot be obtained. Is there something that I am missing in my security declarations for 'CustomFolder' or is this a bug in OFS.CopySupport or OFS.Traversable? Error messages from external methods

Something strange happened after I upgraded to Zope 2.7.2. If there was a run time error in my external method, it used to return the module and line number as part of the error message. Now it just returns an error description without the line information. Here's an example; Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Error Type: KeyError Error Value: 'P' Troubleshooting Suggestions * This resource may be trying to reference a nonexistent object or variable 'P'. * The URL may be incorrect. * The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. * A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the error log. If the error persists please contact the site maintainer. Thank you for your patience. I upgraded to Zope 2.7.3 in the hope that the line numbers would start working again but no luck. Is there an option that controls this? If not, is there a fix that will get the line numbers working again? Now that I think about it, it may be related to some changes I made trying to get the Wing debugger working with Zope. I'll follow up on that thought. If anyone has any insite to this problem, I'd appreciated it. Thanks, Joe Goldthwaite

nasty problem with tinytableplus

hi! i want to use the tinytable function "setRow" within a python script. "setRow" has the following syntax setRow('value1','value2,'value3') or setRow(column1='value1', column2='value2, column3='value3') that worked for me (if i write the arguments myself) but i want to pass the arguments dynamically so i coded the following: newRow="" for field in something: newRow += "%s," % field.value() #create string with the form "value1, value2, value3" context.mytinytable.setRow(newRow) but i get the following error message: Error Value: list objects are unhashable i also tried to pass the arguments with dicts, arrays, etc it won´t work... please help, what to i have to do to pass dynamically created arguments to this function. tnx in advance HakTom

zope ftp error

Hi, I am a Zope/Plone newbie and have encountered these strange FTP problems while uploading to Members home directory. 1) Sometimes the uploads are unsuccessful with the server returning "426 Error writing file" message 2) Sometimes the uploads are successful but when I use Plone web interface to log-in the files are not not shown. These problems happens to files with varying sizes and extensions and there is no regular pattern that I can decipher. I tried searching for the Zope Ftp patch that allows the ftp server to return more meaningful messages but couldn't find it in Zope.org. Can someone please give me some pointers as to how to solve this problem or give me the exact url to the patch? Thanks and regards Chee yuan

Zope stops responding

Zope 2.7.2 Plone 2 python2.3.4 Linux After running normally for a while, zope will stop responding. 'top' shows no activity on the zope threads. There is nothing in the error log. zopectl stop doesn't work, and a 'kill -9' must be used to kill the process so that it can be started back up. A google search reveals that others have had the same problem, but I did not come across an explanation or solution. Any ideas? -- Mark Gibson <mark(a)kaivo.com>
