I guess noone has experience with my particular problem. I traced through CookieCrumbler.py and found that modifyRequest() is raising CookieCrumblerDisabled. The caller __call()__ then catches this exception and returns silently. Why would my CookieCrumbler be disabled? I even deleted my Crumbler and created a new one and still got the same exception. I do see that sometimes disable_cookie_login__=1 gets appended to my URL when I try to login. Why does this happen? Is this related to my problem, even though I've seen this happen when my system was working properly? Thanks, Gordon

Where does Zope get its version information? Under Control Panel I see:- Zope Version (unreleased version, python 2.3.4, os2emx) Python Version 2.3.4 (#0, Jun 6 2004, 13:10:27) [EMX GCC 2.8.1] System Platform os2emx Zope seems unable to retrieve its version number. I know it is v2.7.2 as I've just built it. -- John

Ape, UnmanagedJar has no attributes errors

Wondering if anyone has come across this particular problem. Need help regarding UnicodeEncodeError

Hi, This seemed to just happen recently. I needed to open one of my folders through the ZMI in order to set security setting, however, when I clicked on the folder this message pooped up: Error Type UnicodeEncodeError Error Value 'latin-1' codec can't encode character u'\u201c' in position 68948: ordinal not in range(256) Can someone assist me with this one? I found out that u'\u201c' stands for a left single quote. So I am suspecting that somewhere in one of the documents within this folder there is content that contains a single quote. Is there anything that will resolve this? Thanks, Laura

Building Zope 2.7.2 on OS/2

I was then able to get the build to complete in the ux2bs environment; however, the build does not seem to startup for me. I think one of the '--build*' vars has an extra newline in it that is triggering this error, but since I had not tried any other Zope version on OS/2, I gave up at that point.

Building Zope

I'm having problems building v2.7.2 (2.7.0 builds OK) and can't work out exactly where it fails - ie which program is running at the time. I know the Makefile is being processed and suspect it is while making the 'install' target, but it's difficult to pinpoint the place where the error occurs... Here is what I have at the time of the error:- copying and adjusting utilities/decompilezpy.py -> G:/ux2bs/workdir/Zope-2.7.2-0/build-base/python-2.3/build-scripts ECHO is on. Zope built. Next, do "\make install\" $or "\make instance\" to run a Zope instance directly from the build directory$. ECHO is on. ImportError: DBTab.ClassFactories.autoClassFactory

Hi, I installed Python 2.3.4 and Zope 2.7.2 on a Suse system. When trying to launch ./bin/runzope, I keep getting this error: Error: The object named by "DBTab.ClassFactories.autoClassFactory" could not be imported (line 865 in file:///var/local/lib/zope2.7/instances/mysite/etc/zope.conf) For help, use /usr/local/lib/zope2.7/lib/python/Zope/Startup/run.py -h Zope is installed from source and the Python installation come from: rpmbuild --rebuild python2.3-2.3.4-3pydotorg.src.rpm Here is the etc/zope.conf section that appear to cause the problem: <zodb_db main> # Main FileStorage database <filestorage> path $INSTANCE/var/Data.fs </filestorage> mount-point / </zodb_db> <zodb_db temporary> # Temporary storage database (for sessions) <temporarystorage> name temporary storage for sessioning </temporarystorage> mount-point /temp_folder container-class Products.TemporaryFolder.TemporaryContainer </zodb_db> When I follow what the error message asks me: python /usr/local/lib/zope2.7/lib/python/Zope/Startup/run.py -h I get this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/lib/zope2.7/lib/python/Zope/Startup/run.py", line 50, in ? run() File "/usr/local/lib/zope2.7/lib/python/Zope/Startup/run.py", line 17, in run from Zope.Startup import start_zope ImportError: No module named Zope.Startup I don't have a clue on what's going on. Accessing a macro slot from Python

Dear all, I'm trying to get a Zope Page Template to use a macro which is passed a few parameters that need to be accessed by Python. I was under the impression that "define-slot" and "fill-slot" where the appropriate ways of passing parameters, but I'm really struggling to use these slots from within Python expressions in the macro. My macro looks like so: <span metal:define-macro="pullActivityReport"> <tr tal:repeat="update python:container.get_updates_made(templateid=MYTEMPLATEIDSLOT)"> <td><span tal:replace="update/topicname">Topic Name</span></td> </tr> </span> While my main page looks like: <table> <span metal:use-macro="container/macroDefs/macros/pullActivityReport"> <span metal:fill-slot="MYTEMPLATEIDSLOT">22</span> </span> </table> Is such an amazing feat possible? I am currently using "tal:define global" to pass parameters but it seems like a less than desirable solution (global scope, etc...) Regards, Bryn
