How can I get rid of the javascript dropdown menu for adding content in plone? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope to be able to create thumbnail (as an example seen in the zope book). But i have simplified it as much as possible to see where the problem was located. I'm sure i ll have other problems to create the thumbnails ... : - ) but the real problem at this time is to pass a picture to the exernal method ... Hi ! Is there a way to pass a picture (extension JPG) as a parameter of an external method. It seem to be the case as read on the internet but for me it doesn't work ! My zope config : Zope 2.6.4 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32 This is the problem : 1) I've got a page template where I can choose a picture thru a < file > object : <input type="file" name="filename"> 2) This page template calls a python scripts request=context.REQUEST context.my_external_function( original_id=request['filename'] ) #context.my_external_function( request['filename'] ) 3) my_external_function is defined in an appropiate module in the < Extensions > folder of my zope installation def my_external_function (self, original_id): pass PROBLEM : when i run the process i get an error : exceptions.AssertionError Sorry, a site error occurred. siteroot problem

I'm just starting to fool with zope, and in my exploration of it, mindlessly set up a siteroot object in the root directory which redirects all requests to a child directory. Now, I am unable to access the management interface and so cannot remove the problematic object. Is there any way to fix this aside from purging/recreating the zope instance? Hints, ideas, or specific referals to TFM are welcome. -davidc

local file system

Hi all ! My zope config : Zope 2.6.4 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32 I have installed the < local file system > package ; it's partly working fine but i tough have the following problem : I'm in the ZMI and I'm entering into the local file system I have created (let's call it < my_local_fs > ) In the < security > tab, I try to update the checkboxes related to < anonymous > or < manager >. When i use the < save changes > button I receive the error message < Some permissions had errors: View management screens > Can anybody explain why this happen ? ( Moreover, I don't know where the < management screens > are ...) Thank's in advance for any help. sequence.sort on a property of contained objects

Hi, I have several zope folders on the FSDV and I want to display their titles in a certain order with a ZPT. Since folders on FSDV can not have property of their own, I created a FS property object, whose id is 'property', in each of the folders. And each 'property' objects contains a property 'menu_order', according to which the folders should be sorted. I try to use the following code to sort the folders: <ul tal:define="folders here/get_folders; sort_on python:(('property/menu_order', 'cmp', 'asc'),); sorted_folders python:sequence.sort(folders, sort_on)"> But it seems the sort condition can not contain path expression to access 'property/menu_order'. It takes the whole as a property of the folder object and wouldn't treat 'property' as an object contained in the folder and get its property 'menu_order'. As a result, no sort is performed. Is there any solution to this except for writing a custom sort function of my own? Thanks, Hong Yuan

I am trying to get the spellchecker from Noa working but am having problems. Does anyone have any info on this or is there a better alternative. regards garry
