Hi. How would I format a floating point number so that a comma appears between thousands in the HTML output? Currently I am using C formatting in DTML: fmt="%.2f" which outputs: 1999.00 What we would like is 1,999.00 Thanks in advance! Edge Side Includes and Zope

Hello Zope, I'm very interesting in perfomancing my Zope Server. Currently it gives about 1.5 requests in second - it's too few for real work. I found an article from antient 2002 year, there Zope Corp planned to build support for Edge Side Includes (www.esi.org) into Squid and in Zope (am I right?). But I didn't found anything in the Docs 2.6 Zope Book. Is it project alive? Can we now use this feature. Is there something alike for perfomancing? You need to do two things to get the changes recognized by zope: 1) delete zope2testbase.pyc if it exists 2) restart zope This should cause a new version of zope2testbase.pyc to be created (and used by zope). Help! Zope Crashed and will not start up again!

Hello folks, I'm baffled by a problem we are having with our site and would appreciate any help. We've been running Zope 2.5.1 for quite a while now without any interruption. Due to this stability, I haven't dealt with nuts and bolts sorts of issues and could really use some assistance. Seemingly out of the blue, Zope crashed. When I try to run the start script, it gets stuck on the following error: ========== /home/lrc/lib/python/SearchIndex/__init__.py:19: DeprecationWarning: The usage of the SearchIndex package is deprecated since Zope 2.4. This package is only kept for backwards compatibility for a while and will go away in a future release. Please use instead the re-factored modules in Products/PluginIndexes. warnings.warn("The usage of the SearchIndex package is deprecated since \ ========== I have seen this message before, but I've ignored it because Zope usually starts right up afterwards and runs just fine. Now it won't get past that message and I find myself in an emergency situation. Does anyone know enough about the Zope startup routine to help point me in the right direction? Newbie question about Zope/Plone interaction

Zope Folk, Hey all. I�m pretty sure that what I�m about to ask is a pretty stupid question, but for the life of me I can�t figure it out. I�m not a programmer by trade, and am just volunteering to build a site for a small Human Rights NGO in Eastern Europe. I figured it�d be no problem since I know Dreamweaver pretty well, but they didn�t mention any dynamic needs till after I�d agreed. Sneaky bastards. ;) Anyways, I installed Plone & Zope on Monday and had a pretty easy time getting it up and running and converting some static pages I�d built into Zope Page Templates. The problem is that I�ve spent the last 3 days trying to get my ZPTs to display the content I�ve already entered into Plone and had no success. I�ve read the Plone manual, done the Zope Tutorial, and read all of the parts of the Zope manual that seem applicable, but I�m still hitting my head against a brick wall. Here are the assumptions I�ve been working under: A. The front-end users at the office can enter content through the Plone portal which in turn can be displayed by ZPTs. B. My site folder in Zope should be in a separate folder than the one that contains Plone. C. My ZPTs can access content in Plone by simple statements like �<span tal:content="Plone/latest"></span>�, �Plone� being the Plone folder in the Zope Root Folder, �latest� being the name of a news item I�ve uploaded into Plone. I�ve been told on the online chat that I should be entering �here.latest� and I�ve tried that as well, using every possible permutation of what �here� may mean (including literally �here�) with no luck. So can anyone tell me what I�m doing wrong and why I can�t access my Plone content in my ZPTs? I�m sure it�s obvious, but it�s not jumping out at me. I really only need dynamic content for 6 pages, and I�m hesitant to start creating the other 120 until I�ve got this figured out, so I�m kind of at a standstill. Dumping Zope (CMF) site to file system

I want to set up a process for dumping my Zope CMF site to the filesystem, to be served by Apache. I'm interested in anyone who's doing this - what tools are you using. I'm trying Wget, but the main problem is dealing with absolute URLs. I can use the Wget --convert-links option, which removes the href attribute from the <base> tag and makes internal links relative. However, I still have a problem with folders. The absolute_url() method does not return a trailing slash for folders. Wget downloads the URL folder_name as a file called folder_name, but it downloads folder_name/ as folder_name/index.html. I have already written a relativeURL() script based on portal_url.getRelativeUrl(), but it doesn't return a trailing slash either, so I'll have to add one.
