Hi, I have a problem with external editor and editing python scripts with pythonwin. It works fine if pythonwin is not open when I edit a script by clicking on the pencil. But if pythonwin is already open, I get the error: "external editor lost connection to editor process" The script is loaded in pythonwin, but the connection to Zope is lost. anyone have a solution ? Starting zope instance problems

Hi, I've installed Python 2.3.4 in a Suse 8.2 system and then installed zope 2.7.1 and configured an instance. I did all of this logged in as root and I've chowned the instance folder to a normal user. When I tried starting this instance as the normal user, I got the first error: read permission missing for /opt/zope2.7/lib/python/Zope/Startup/zopeschema.xml I fixed this permission and of another file, then decided to start the instance as root and seting up as effective user, the normal user. I got then into lots of errors regarding reading permissions (one file at a time). I gave up and recursively gave o+r permissions to the whole installation. Finally, I got it running, but all of this smells very wrong and indeed I want to run instances as normal user. What am I doing wrong?? Fernando

File Upload/REQUEST Question

Hello, I recently came across a very-cool uploader, called RAD Upload Applet, from http://www.radinks.com. Its a signed HTTP Uploader that provides a drag n drop target on a webpage, that manages multiple uploads with status bars and is quite nice. It's obviously client-side Java, but the authors have encoded the REQUEST data as 'userfile[0]' and 'userfile[1]' and so on. When I view the REQUEST, they show at ZPublisher File Upload objects, but I can't seem to get at them because of the brackets in the literal. It tries to resolve them as a list, when in fact they're an array. How do I access them in either a Python Script or DTML Method with this bracket problem? What should I try next? Zope error while connecting to Postgresql from APE

Hi, I have installed Zope and APE. I have added a Postgresql mount point in zope.conf. Now when I try to connect to 'Zope Management Interface' and a ZODB mount point for postgresql, the error I get is :- Error Type: ImportError Error Value: /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/psycopgmodule.so: undefined symbol: PQresultErrorField What do I do? uncatalog_object question

I have a ZCatalog which contains about 850k entries. Each entry is a zclass instance which is NOT 'catalog aware' (ie. catalog_object was used to explicitly add the record to the zcatalog). The records exist in the zcatalog and I can access a single record's data_record_id_ by: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('recid', '1049298593')"> <dtml-in "Catalog({'master_recid' : recid})"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('drid', data_record_id_)"> </dtml-in> drid= <dtml-var drid> Displays: drid= 17223047659 All is well, so far... I now want to remove the record from the ZCatalog: <dtml-call "Catalog.uncatalog_object(recid)"> generates the following error in my log file: 2004-07-02T11:13:07 ERROR(200) Catalog uncatalogObject unsuccessfully attempted to uncatalog an object with a uid of 1049298593. and <dtml-call "Catalog.uncatalog_object(drid)"> generates the following error in my log file: 2004-07-02T11:21:07 ERROR(200) Catalog uncatalogObject unsuccessfully attempted to uncatalog an object with a uid of 1722304759. So, how do you remove a 'non-catalog aware' object from a zcatalog? (this is the first time I have used non-catalog aware instances, in previous projects I used catalog-aware objects and just deleted the object in the folder and the object was automatically removed from the zcatalog).
