Minor CookieCrumbler Problem

I'm using CC with SimpleUserFolder. Interesting problem: I've got two areas of my site, which require different levels of authorization; area 1 requires lower auth than area 2, so if someone authenticates to get access to 1, they may be prompted again when they try area 2. The first successful authentication/authorization attempt is always managed by CC -- so if I go to area 1 first, I get CC login screen; if I go to area 2 first, same thing. But if I go to area 1, authenticate, and then try to go to area 2, I get the HTTP Basic auth popup. Am I missing something obvious? This is Zope 2.7 on Solaris 9. -roy

Populating selection-style property with list of folders

Hi - Perhaps someone can help ... What dtml method produces a list of folders that is compatible with the 'selection' property type? My goal is to add a proprty to the ZMI property sheet for a folder that is a drop-down listing of available subfolders. I have no problem creating a property called ThemeFolder of type 'selection' that points to another property called FolderList of type 'lines' that has the names of the folders. The documentation says the selection can come from either a property or a method. When the selection property it is pointed to a DTML Method called DTMLFolderList with the code: _dtml-in "objectValues(['Folder'])"_ _dtml-var id_ _/dtml-in_ It reports an error. I have tried _dtml-var objectItems_ and several other variations with similar results. What dtml method produces a list that is compatible with the 'selection' property type? I'm stumped. Thank you for any assistance you can provide or point me to expanded documentation! A full surch of the mailing list archives didn't report any suggestions. Thank you, Gary

Suppress the <base> tag in ZPT

I'd like to suppress the <base> tag produced automatically when a ZPT is rendered. I know I can override the default with my own, but I really want the rendered page without the <base> tag. Newbie needs help

Hi Experts, sorry for bothering you with my you with my question - I have read only rough pieces of the Zope documentation, but my problem affects Zope only in a very limited context: I am responsible to prepare a server for the (academic) presentation of an internet-application running on a tomcat servlet container. One of the included frameworks (the Open Source Flash-Remoting Service 'OpenAMF') is still in a very early development state, and I could not persuade it to function properly on a port different to 8080, Tomcats default port. Unfortunately there is another Web-application deployed to this server (by another academic group, which is currently unavailable): Zope has currently the port 8080 tied to its services. Since I do not know anything about the Zope applications architecture or even installation I am asking you for advice on how to disable Zopes service temporarily. I could imagine to 'simply' change the Zope port for the next two weeks, but i guess for an expert arise even more and surely more intelligent ideas. My ideal solution would limit changes to comments on one or two lines of code in a 'reusable' manner. Of course I could sudo kill zope-*.py and change tomcats config towards 8080, but that way I had to screw around with obfuscated bash.sh scripts. Isn't there a way that is far more obvious to roll back for the Zope-teams administrator after my presentation? Again sorry for not studying the documentation extensively.. FTP to non-default Plone instances

Within my Zope server I have several Plone instances - one for each of the three websites I am creating. I am using CMFPhotoAlbum to manage my photos and would like to upload photos to each of the instances using FTP. When I connect to Zope via FTP, however, I find myself in the virtual file structure of the default Plone instance ("Plone" under "Root Folder" in the ZMI). How do I connect via FTP to the 3 Plone instances I created? Thank you. Thank you for your response. Please note that I have only one instance of Zope running but have multiple Plone sites (webapps?) configured within the Zope instance. Thus, http://myzopeserver/myplone1 and http://myzopeserver/myplone2 are each served by the same Zope instance. I would like to know how to ftp into /myplone1 and /myplone2 rather than the default Plone site created during installation ("/Plone"). Thanks. passing a parameter retrieved from a sql call

I have a dtml-method that calls a bunch of sql inserts to update tables in a relational database. The last thing I need to do is retrieve the auto-increment ID from one table and use an update command to put it into a joining table. I'm using MySQL 3.23.52 and it won't let me write the call as : UPDATE linksProjects SET linksProjects.categoryId = categories.categoryId (SELECT categories.categoryId FROM categories WHERE categories.catTitle = <dtml-sqlvar catTitle type=string>) Apparently it won't let me reference two tables in a nested query at all. So if I just make a call to a select statement: SELECT categories.categoryId FROM categories WHERE categories.catTitle = <dtml-sqlvar catTitle type=string> How do I pass the value retrieved back to a variable ... say 'ct' to use in The update statement? Catalog - exclusive-or?

Hi, I have a bunch of objects (CMF content but I don't think that's relevant to the question) which are conceptually closely related - they are different versions of the same content. I want to be able to ensure that a search returns at most one of the related objects. I can't think of any way to do this with stock ZCatalog, and I've been looking at Dieter's AdvancedQuery but can't quite sort it out there either. The semantics I want are like this: given a FieldIndex F, an object o, and a query parameter foo, o is a match if o's value for F is foo or o's value for F is "default" AND there are no relatives of o whose value for F is foo I think I could implement this with a bunch of post-processing of the query results, but that seems likely to be slowwww. any ideas? -- Paul Winkler http://www.slinkp.com

Replacement UserFolder

I need to replace acl_users for a given folder (thankfully not the root) with something that will read from a database AND do cookie-based authentication (so HTML login screen, rather than basic auth). SimpleUserFolder, which was a snap to set up, doesn't seem to do the latter. PluggableUserFolder 2.4.1 seemed to not like Zope 2.7. A previous workplace used GenericUserFolder, but it's rather obsolete. Suggestions? -roy
