Or is headLine the name of the variable within the REQUEST block that you want to access? eg. if you did something like: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('headLine', 'id123')"> (or if headLine is returned from a form) Then <dtml-var "REQUEST['headline']"> will display: id123 However: <dtml-var "REQUEST[headline]"> is a type of indirection, which means that the contents of REQUEST['headLine'] will be used to locate another variable with the REQUEST block. eg. <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('headLine', 'id123')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('id123', 'xxx')"> <dtml-var "REQUEST[headline]"> will display: xxx HTH Jonathan

Zope on 64 bit
by Niranjan Patel 10 Jun '04

Hello everyone, I tried to compile Zope 2.7 on fedora Core 2 running on AMD 64 bit with python 2.3.3 On starting the server I get segmentation fault. As an attempt I tried to install python 2.1.3 from source with -prefix and -with-threads Then installed Zope 2.6.4rc4 from source and compiled using this python On start I get zdeamon process xxxx terminated by signal SIGSEGV and go in an infinite loop. I would really like to know if anyone has ever got zope compiled on a 64 bit machine if so which os (Fedora Core 1, 2 or other) Please reply atleast to say whether anyone is running on 64 bit. I was able to get the binary release for zope 2.6.4linux2_x86 running but than I get error when I try to compile other packages like Mysql-python. Thanks Niranjan

Question about the code ...
by Samy Beja 10 Jun '04

Hi, I have a product which is a Zclass that I want to implement. The fact is that a syntax error occurs at the very first line of code. I picked up this example from a book but it seems to be erroneous !! My Zclass is named PatternClass and the function that makes troubles is PatternClass_add. Here you are the code I put in it but, still with the syntax error. #<HTML> #<HEAD><TITLE>Add PatternClass</TITLE></HEAD> #<BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF" LINK="#000099" VLINK="#555555"> #<dtml-with PatternClass.createInObjectManager(REQUEST [headLine],REQUEST) #<dtml-call "propertysheets.PatternDescription.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> #</dtml-with> #<dtml-if DestinationURL> #<dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(DestinationURL+?/manage_workspace?)"> #<dtml-else> #<dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect(URL2+?/manage_workspace ?)"> #</dtml-if> #</body></html> It is a simple function and I have no idea about how to implement it in another way ... Thanks for your help ... _________________________________________________________________ Elections 2004, les dernieres nouvelles http://www.fr.msn.be/elections2004
