Is it possible to move Data.fs between different versions of Zope, specifically 2.6.x and 2.7.0? And platforms - Win32 to Linux? For example, I have an instance of Zope 2.6 running, and this server has instances of LocalFS. The same product, LocalFS, doesn't work with Zope 2.7, in fact once installed users/administrators cannot access views/management screens at that point. Hi all, summer is coming; the "june edition" is ready for download at http://zwiki.org . Summary: Much i18n progress including a number of new translations; tracker cleanups and usability improvements; permissions fixes; tests, code cleanups, bugfixes. ( http://zwiki.org/ReleaseNotes ) This was the month where internationalisation finally took hold, assisted greatly by the work of Nicolas aka Foenyx. We have PTS-based i18n support working for python code, page templates, dtml templates and dtml pages, in and out of CMF/Plone. Localizer support code has not been removed at this point, it could be made to work as an alternative but on the whole I prefer PTS's po-file approach. Thanks to Nicolas and the other translators who have stepped forward this month, including Lele Gaifax, T.C.Chou, Jean Rodrigo Ferri and Raphael Badin. 0.31 is the first release where translators have something solid to work with, so if you want to help with other languages it's a great time to get in contact on #zwiki and at http://zwiki.org/InternationalisationDiscussion . Current translation status is at http://zwiki.org/Chapter26Internationalisation . zwiki.org discussion has been relatively light this month. There are awkward technical/usability aspects to the current setup and I'm thinking about ways to simplify and concentrate discussion a bit. Ideas welcome at http://zwiki.org/UserDiscussion . Spam comments passed the annoyance threshold this month and an preventive feature has been added (banned_links). Thanks to the usual zwiki.org crew for bug reports, suggestions and tips. acquisition problem

Hi! I have a hierarchy of sites, each site may or may not have own pics, css-es, etc. If a a subsite hasn't got own logo for example, it uses its parents'. It's ok, that's what acqusition for. The problem begins when I want the subsites more structured, ie. I want all pictures to be in 'pics' subfolder of each site. let's see: /root_site/pics/ /root_site/subsite1/subsite2/../subsiteN/pics/ When I create 'pics' folder in one of my subsites, I lost the content of the formal 'pics' folders (overriding the parent's folder itself) and I only see the pictures of the lastest 'pics' folder. That's not what I want:) It would be nice to see all stuff in a hierarchy above, putting only the custom images to 'pics' of each site. Is there a way (or a special product) to do this? Shane, Yes, you have to use Z Enterprise Objects (ZEO). Zope 2.7 comes with it. Basically it seperates the ZODB from the application server. This most often used for clustering and such, but you can use it for any purpose. You then have a Zeo server (Where the ZODB is) and one or more Zope servers (Which act as Zeo clients). You can google for Zeo or read zope.conf for some bits of information. traverse_subpath in my product

Hi all I try to use traverse_subpath in my product but I can't found a real good solution I found some pages explaining you need to override __bobo_traverse__ or __getitem__ in order to implement traverse_subpath on a product but I think it's a really poor solution My question could be: Is there any simple solution to implement traverse_subpath on my product? TIA

Largefile support error

Hello! Classic disclaimer here: I'm not sure if this is the right list, so I apologize if I'm in the wrong place. Please be so kind as to redirect me, if this is the case! :) I'm trying to install Zope, to play around with (I've never used it before, but a development environment that lets me run with Python easily, is kinda nice), but I'm having an issue with Largefile support. I'm getting the error: "This Python interpreter does not have 'large file support' enabled. Large file support is required to allow the default Zope ZODB database to grow larger than 2GB on most platforms. Either install a Python interpreter with large file support (see http://www.python.org/doc/current/lib/posix-large-files.html) or run this program again with the --ignore-largefile option to prevent this warning, with the understanding that your Zope may fail if the ZODB database size ever exceeds 2GB." Now, I follow the URL, and I get a list of flags to recompile Python with. I follow their directions (doing a make clean, with Python first), and stuff's *still* not compiling. I run the python interpreter, and try the 'import test.test_largefile', and it says that the filesystem doesn't support largefile... should I be asking a Python group about this? has anyone else run into something similar?
