is it possible to always execute a python script in a folder?

Hi, I have a folder with ZPT and python script's. In a zpt, i can use a macro, and that macro can perform an action that i always want to do. I don't like much that solution.... and now i step into the problem that i have zpt that do a post to python script, and it's kind boring, to always write in the python script repetitive code just like the macro in zpt. Any ideas? If anyone knows perl/Mason, i want something like the autohandler feature. thanks in advance, --Bruno

Catalog query time

I have a single folder in a zope instance that contains about 8000 pdf files. Each of those files is indexed using TextIndexNG (1.09), along with having a Subject and Type index that are both Field indexes. I am using portal_catalog under CMF 1.2 , Zope 2.6.1, python 2.1.3. Querying the catalog has begun to take much more time recently and I am wondering if there are any things that I can check into regarding what might be slowing things down. I have a simple query returned from a MySQL database that in turn drives a search of the catalog on Subject and Type. I am using the following syntax: ... query = context.getDBSubjectForUser(userID=userID) for q in query : docResults = context.portal_catalog({'Subject' : q.subject, 'Type' : 'Template'}) ... ZBabel under Zope 2.7

Hi, I want to use ZBabel under Zope 2.7 If I include a tag <dtml-babel>my-label</dtml-babel> in a DTML Method, then ZBabel returns the label. But there is a translation for my-label. So why the heck do I get the label instead of the translation? BTW: I don't get any traceback, it simply doesn't function. Silently. With kind regards Florian Reiser

Hello ! I have a problem in Zope. I has been used APE in Zope later, but some bugs in it, so I use Ext. Editor now. APE's good thing is to I find every text in every object with Total Commander/MC. But when I dropped APE, I don't find possible solution to text search in source. So: many files in my project, and I want to find a zpt or py, what containing the wrong variable named xx. But in this way I need to open all objects, and find it manually. I want to write a script to do that: - it is get the request params - walk on the Zope FS tree - get all of the zpt, and py object's sources (not the result !) - find the same strings with param - show the result So: how can I do that ? Use of term "gibberish" = me frustrated. Point taken re. above. I didn't post the output of the error log because I upgraded to LocalFS 1.1 and that seemed to mostly work. Other quirks now show up in LocalFS. >From another one of my posts/cry for help - Apart from another issue I've been having with LocalFS, which I think I may have fixed by upgrading LocalFS to ver. 1.1, I'm experiencing other unexpected behaviour. When I add a LocalFS object and specify the path as "." (ie, current directory), LocalFS doesn't map it to the $INSTANCE/var directory any longer, and neither does it map it to $ZOPE. It's mapped to ..\$ZOPE. This doesn't seem safe either. It's a bother since I've always used relative paths for LocalFS. And when I try and edit (and only on edit) the path on an already existing LocalFS object from the Properties tab, I get the following error - =============== Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Zip file system

In poking around, I've found a product that allows you to upload a zip file and then expands it for populating the ZODB. I've never seen a Zope product that keeps the zip file as a zip file but then serves it like a file system. Something like a "ZipFS" product. Am I correct in assuming that no such product exists? -- Mike

FW: zpt initial blank line

I'v got the same problem (leading blank line) with Zope 2.7.0 on W2k3 (using included python) rendering html. And *also* an extra blank line before/after each '<img tal:replace structure (location image)'>.
